I miss the old expansions... oh how i miss them... I dont feel comfortable with the new ones after Exodus... Anyways can i ask for a price check at least? im making this Discarder-Creature Killer Mono Black Type 1 deck (although it looks and is as powerful as a Type 2 I believe)  Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

so a Mono black eh and its all pre Exodus. Now price check ok if your doing a very low creature count on your on own right its probally more powerful than a type a 2 for the simple reason the only thing thats really close to it in type 2 is the new black wrath of god "damnitaion". You should be alright idd you keep the general cost of your cards below 4. This dosent mean running the general over all life drain cards. Now since your not good around the new sets I won't name anything other than what I did. However if I may look into the one set callded "Time Sprial". This set reprinted alot of cards or as the terminolgy is called "Time Shifted". It featuers some of the easiest cards to use as well as some of the most oldest feelings a old player could have. Glance though it and you might be able to adjust if not then keep it simple. 60 cards. 22-24 land. (If you don't use the 24 then you can use those extra 2 twaords somthing fun.) 1 part kill (keywords destory) 1 part discard 1 part minus( keywords targer creature gets -x/-x) 1 part removal (Keywords remove from game) [Howver this can be subsited for cheaper and not so hard to find cards that equal 1 part Sac (Keyword player sacerfices)or 1 part life drain (keywords deal damage and gain life or target player loses life and you gain that much) Finally half part anything you want. This last part are ususally what I throw in for pure sh** and giggles. *1 part = 8 cards Now this is how I do my standard (I don't mean tourny format I mean run of a mill) mono black discard kill. My last random cards are usually somthing that lets me draw or gain life. You might do it completly differnt however this is how I have done it for years now and for the most part the deck holds its own. This formular can be sifted of course and if you can get a creature to do any of the above abillites then bounus because hey somthing that kill, give -x/-x, drain life, or somthing nify in creature form is awosme simply becuase then we can swing for direct damage (woo hoo). This wasn't meant agaisnt you in the sense that you don't know how to play. I wrote this post any body and everybody can read it and get an idea of how I do would do it. I hope this was helpful or if this was not how you meant and you actaulyl meant money value well what are you running? |

I was wonering if anyone had any suggestions for a Molimo Maro Sorcerer deck. It doesn't matter if its type one, two, or a mix because I'm not going to use it in any tournaments. I haven't played in a long time so there might be some new things i don't know or cards I haven't heard of.

For an all-black deck involing discarding I'd suggest putting in a "Megrim" (enchantment, deals 2 damage whenever an opponent discards a card). I don't know if there is a pre-exodus version ( I know of a 7th edition and 8th edition version though). I don't trade or collect cards anymore but I kept six of my decks and still play. Favorite cards: Radiate(Torment), Gurzigost(Oddessy) I think the best combo I've ever pulled off was Agonizing Demise (with kicker) and Radiate. It was a multiplayer game and the person before me played a Tempting Wurm (allowing everyone else to play all their creatures, etc. in their hand for free). Another favorite is Evacuation/Wheel and Deal. I have a Cleric Deck (Black/White), Kavu Deck (one of each Kavu, no new ones . . yet), Kamakaze Deck (Red/Black), Squirrel Deck (Red/Green), Annoying Blue/White Deck, and Recycler Deck (Red/Green, uses Gurzigost) I could never bring myself to make a single color deck for fear of cards like Wash Out and such.
The next witty thing I think of and remember will likely end up here.

Mono colors are a risk however mono black has no fear now. Between cheap mass removal and a black counter spell. (litterally folks the card is "Dash Hopes". Cost is two black mana. Instant. Counter target spell unless its controller pays five life.) My mono black hit such a freakin speed it my pestince near useless. In my eyes megrims are only justified if you run enough discard to do the 20 or more damage. Also though there is also the graveyard raping that can occur. Hey in the end of the day it comes to what you want to do. |

(I cant find my list) I cant even remember why i placed Balthor the Defiled on the Deck... Must have played with it while it was incomplete at one time... Well I can understand the defilier hey its mass black res if you lose your field to a mass kill. Still I see the deck now and yeah you were playing onlsaught legions. Not bad sets what so ever. I have Patriarchs bidding in my black/white cleric deck, it rocks when you remove all your opponents creatures from his graveyard. If you're using a lot of legions and onslaught then I would suggest putting in a gravespawn sovereign (tap 5 zombies: put any creature from a graveyard into play under your control.).

I used to play MTG, it was long ago though :P my newest cards are from 6th edition and I bought them only a couple weeks after they became available. Kept two decks just in case. White knight/healing deck is my most refined one, and the other is a red blitz/sorcery deck. |

Finish your deck you can do it. New rules fudge them. Just look at them add them to your deck and abuse them. Two words man, sudden death. Annoying players? Make them wish they never started. |
