I just got the game and I can't beat the "Attack of the Rathalos" urgent quest. Does anyone have suggestions for what armor and weapon I should use.

Dear fellow hunter, Hey man, ive been waiting a LONG LONG LONG TIME to talk about hunting. I'm a very experianced hunter (played over 400 hours) and i will like to help u. I dont have the game in english, but i can still help u out. Theres 3 colours of Rathalos. Red, Blue, and Silver. Red has the weakness against water, and dragon element. Also another way of defeating him is Poison (which i have done 1st time around) Its weakness part is head. The effective weapon against it is lance, i find it easy to kill it with that. Blade isnt a bad alternative to cut its tail. Blue is weak against dragon, but also water and thunder element works aswell. Like red rathalos, its weakness is at his head. Silver im sure u wont meet it for a long while if u started... but its weakness is water and thunder, and its weakpoint is at its wing. Defeating rathalos is a matter of chasing him, so having paint ball is effective. another item which works is the item which flashes, in JPN version its called "Sen kou dama" a ball throw to make him blind for a while. But usually if u c a dragon that u 1st fight against, ensure that ur dont just attack into it, and its best to observe for a while and to notice its attacking pattern, and figure out whens the best timing to attack. I say this due to people hav thier own favorite weapon type, and armour, and has to find his, or her way to defeat it. But for normal rathalos, its best to use poison, as it can deal damage while doing anything. Also notice that if u do fight safely, u can defeat it in about 20-30 minutes, even the 1st go, and if u get used to it, less than 10 minutes, or even less than 5. Realise that u got plenty of time in ur hands. Good luck with ur hunting buddy, any other problems, message me.

Basically, what dh86 is saying, Poison axe, and hunter's gear. or chain gear would work too. Also, flashbomb x5 and if you are sucky at the game, a pitfall trap would definately help. Don't worry about the Azure Rathalos and Silver Rathalos just yet...won't appear until the 5 and 6 star elder quests. XD  |

Hey just because i'm a noob who needs to use a pitfall trap doesn't mean i suck at the game, i just don't have as much experience as others.
