Unbelievable thing I just heard from some guy.

Hey everybody, i live in the US and i was buying the Gasaraki perfect collection boxed set at this store 'cause it was on sale. And the guy says to me "man, you must not have seen many anime shows 'cause that has to be the most slow and boring series i've ever seen. **chuckles and snorts then begins to cough do to excess cigarette smoking**" Suffice it to say we got into a heated argument in which physical contact was nearing. Do any of you feel the same way or do you agree with me? Why or why not?

I can't agree with either of you since I haven't seen the anime, but I do know it's might actually be stupid to overly critisive other people's opinion. So by that argument I proclaim him to be the one who is 'stupid'. There's a saying that goes about like this: 'A man who know his skills doesn't need to show them off'. I think that's a very important rule when bragg .. err .. talking about anime ;) |

yes, i must submit myself to that wisdom ,however. though i would have really liked to have unloaded several shells from the magazine of an uzi in response to some of the exchanges made, **clenches teeth as he types** i should have just let it slide in the first place. but it's hard to just take a diss on such a masterpeice like that without sitting down.

ive seen the seires evangelion-like...its boring to those who cant understand dark series with psychological touches...like evangelion... its kinda boring ... both of them gasraki and evangelion... BUT GREAT the soundtrack is not great... thats what i call extremely boring... almost kinda lullabyish PEACE ON EARTH |

| I haven't the slightest clue what series that is, but I do have a passion to hate those kind of criticizing people. Judging the world as if it revolves around them -.- If you believe it's a good series, then I think that's the only opinion you need. Did the guy work at the store? Complain to the manager if he does =P for putting you, the customer in "mental discomfort". |

Well ive never seen the anime(or heard of it)but if u like then he had no right to dis it(besides no one has the right to dis someone else opinion xpesially wen it comes to anime)(yes im a BIG fan of anime)if he works there i agree w/ phantOhObO that u shold complain 2 the manager.
It's all fun and games untill Snape ends up in a banna suit....

lol wiggles, I had the same problem when I tried to buy one of the Inuyasha movies (Affections touching across time) the guy kind of snorted and said something like "nerd" under his breath, I almost leaned across the counter to hit him......but he shall pay....oh yes....he shall....lol ^.- (thats supposed to be a wink btw lol)

Sorry, never seen the anime either... and though this thread is older, I still hafta say that that guy can exfixiate on his own cigarrette fumes and keel over. I wouldn'ta held back - screw peace, violence solves all. ^.~ You keep comments like that to yourself, and that's the end of it. |

| I watched gasaraki a few times at my local anime club screenings and I kinda agree that it's slow anime. I fall asleep watching it, so bad that afterwards when gasaraki comes on i go out to the uni's comp labs to go on net until gasaraki is over |

| I live in the UK (england) and when I was first getting into anime it was on on scifi at about midnight. Worth staying up for but not being able to fully apprecitate what was on. Well Gasaraki was on and a first I wasnt too keen. However I recorded and soon I was immersed. It has to be watched from start to finish in order to fully understand it. I even had to by the dvds to fully enjoy it. It is excellent but very hard going. Its a worth the effort kind of anime, like evangelion or a book like lord of the rings/ war and peace/ Gormenghast. |

Gasaraki is really slow? Heh, you should watch .hack//SIGN or The Seikai Trilogy (Banner of the Stars, Crest of the Stars, Crest of the Stars II).
