I can help you with that! just go to the control panel then to "add or remove programs" and check to see if you have "Japanese Language Support" if it doesen't just install it from ur browser's website (eg.microsoft internet explorer's website) or ignore it! -i hope it's a lot of help for you- |

This is how you do this if you have xp installed Goto the region and language options in the control panel and select the languages tab. In the supplemental language support section of this tab there should be two check boxes if these are unchecked then check them and apply the changes (you will be asked for your windows xp disc at this time as these files are not stored on the hard drive). I'm not too sure about this part but I would suggest a full reboot of your computer so that all the changes can take effect and then everything should work as it did before. Just for an extra note you can actually do this during the setup procedure after doing a reinstall. |

Of all of you people who posted, only demonix01 got it right, but Sinweaver was close: If you want to take it to the next level, on your start bar right click and select toolbars and enable the Language toolbar. Then, go into Control Panel and select Regional and Language Options. From there click on the languages tab and click details. Then click add under installed services and you can add japanese as an input language so you can type in japanese in programs like notepad and word, etc. It comes in handy when buying stuff from sites in Japanese.

if it doesn't have the files to read it on your computer (99 times out of 100 windows will have the files on hand for "east-asian languages" but just won't have them installed), then windows will just ask for you to put your XP install CD into the drive when you click the checkmark on the Language options.
