some sorta error occurred when i restart my window

while entering windows after restart... some error like the one on the right pops out...  anyone help me out? >.< restarted over 10 times today. PS:I dunno if i'm under the correct section...  |

| did you over run the win explorer like opening it while your pc is busy? let your pc finish reading first before running programs |

ok, first off, try booting into safe mode (f8 on startup) and then if you can load it in safe mode try using the system restore back to a point where that didn't happen and in theory it should work. If not, then this is a problem that not much short of a format can fix.

paopet, I don't even think you realize the difference between 'Windows Explorer' and 'Internet Explorer' which are two completely different programs. In snakelegend's case, he's having a problem with Windows Explorer, which is an integral part of the Windows operating system that starts with the rest of your system. Go play with computers for a few more years so you actually know what's going on before you throw out nonsensical statements like that again. |

i'm not sure if this will really help or not, but when my notebook persistantly came up with errors similar to yours, i pop in the WinXP cd, restart the PC and use its auto-repair function.after it finishes with its repair,i restart the pc and the errors stopped coming out. also, have you installed the updates for your OS? |

Hm.... can you remember what happened to make it go like that? I'm assuming you're using XP How are you even posting this anyway? From what experience when i had problems like that (on school computers, on a different OS, so not sure), Windows would crash to just showing background, and I'd need to restart. Yeah I think a format is the best way to go to dealing with these problems... but this is coming from a person with an xp cd that doesn't like repairing or even installing properly... |

Ok, try this: after the computer is all loaded up and explorer has already crashed, you've sent or ignored the error, and everything has finished. Hit 'WinKey + R' and a 'Run...' box should pop up. (WinKey being the one with the little windows flag logo on it between Ctrl and Alt.) In that run box, type explorer and hit OK. Your desktop will either come up, or it will crash again. |

i am able to post and use programs as usual... except you know, the Error is always on top. i'll try that ^ i think... because now the error pops up either i just started windows, or after using it after sometimes... thanks, i'll report back asap. |

wait a moment... so you dont click the "send report" or "Dont send" buttons? hmm.... not sure but you CAN try... since it seems you still have functionability you can start disabling startup items (i use spybot S&D to do that if i need to, so i dunno how to access the startup files through windows). Basically, you turn off ONE item in startup, then reboot. If message pops up still, then turn off another one. It COULD be a program trying to boot up that is making that error. And, if you dunno which programs you can turn on or off, ask(last resort) or GOOGLE it. google does wonders. Oh before that. Try booting up in safe mode and see if error pops up. (What h4xor said). If it does pop up there, im not sure if my thing will work. |

since it says something about msi.dll in the modname, i assume it has an error with the Windows Installer service.(i might be wrong here, so correct me) try this... 1)Start>Run>services.msc 2)once the 'Services' window appears, on the right pane, scroll down till you see 'Windows Installer'. 3)check to see if it is running or not. if it is running,right click on 'Windows Installer' and select 'Properties'. click on the 'Stop' button and wait for it to stop. once it has stopped, on the 'Startup type:' drop down menu, select 'Manual'. click Ok to save changes.(i assume yours is 'Started' windows naturally set Windows Installer running at startup, unless you modify the services.msc, like i did) 4)restart PC and check if the error appears again or not. edit:i didn't notice the msi.dll error on your fist pic...O_o |

Actually PSOplayer, IE isn't as integrated as M$ would like you to think. It is possible to remove it. You need to use XPlite to remove it. You need a few workarounds to get automatic updates but you can keep your PC fully functional without IE by using XPlite. It's official website is www.litepc.com hope this helps and no, it isn't some joke, this program's predecessor was part of the anti-trust hearing against MS that prooved that MS was just doing all that they could to force you to use IE. It replaces IE with the Windows 95 explorer for files and this would speed up your PC and free up some hard drive space. If your PC is currently lagging, it is partially Explorer's fault.
