I dont know if this thread is considered physics or not, so sorry D: Can lifving organisms be created from nonliving chemicals? i've searched this up in the past, but now i cant seem to find anything on it, theres an essay from harvard about it, but thats about it. I remember the lab used for it, using hot water, electricity, and simple gases to form living microorganisms- I would appreciate it if links were provided from your responses about it. |

all living things are made up of non-living chemicals. i believe your question, more accurately stated, is this: can life emerge without previous life i would have to say the answer is yes, because life on Earth must have come from somewhere. clearly life could not have always existed, since the universe had a beginning (the big bang). |

I believe you are referring to the Miller-Urey Experiment where some of the basic compounds needed for life were created in the laboratory, though they did not create life themselves. There is also an interview with Miller where he discusses the experiment and some other theories for the creation of life on earth. But to put it simply, Gendou hit the nail on the head. |
