Nice Cleaning Program
|
I want to clean my hard disk, removing some unnecessary stuff in my drive C:\ but I don't know what to remove since I can see several applications like the .log and .bak files that I generally don't understand which might be the cause of my computer problems dattebayo~ So I'd like to ask a few recommendations on what kind of program I should use on cleaning and scanning my computer, if it's possible. A FREE program to download, and also those that are Windows 98-supported tebayo~ |

haha... if u like just keep on managing your comp once in a week. remove these type of file (.exe) when if seems strange, especially when its size is 262KB. i leave my comp for a week with just 1 .exe file and later on found that its has multiplying itself, now taking total of 314mb for 1200 folder. what a waste of memory. |

Windows has its own disk cleaning utility, which can be accessed by right click C:\> Properties>Disk Cleanup. |

Seriously though, the only real disc cleaning utilities you need are the ones built into the operating system. Disc Cleanup is all you really need for handling all temp files internet related. Everything else you should do yourself (cleaning up your start menu and desktop for example). Any program that 'does it for you' has waaaay too many chances to mess things up and delete something you may need later. It's not hard, it just takes a little time, but once you do, just make it a habit to delete stuff you know you won't use after you use it, and then it won't take so long. Also, run a checkdisc once a month or so. It'll help keep your hard drive (and your files) stable.
Beware the quiet people,
You don't know their intentions
(small signatures are sooo much cooler since they don't annoy people trying to read through posts!) |
