Basically, I have 4 accounts, 2 administrator accounts while 2 are normal users. I am one of the administrator accounts and I want to use Firefox as my default browser. However, last time, my parents were complaining about the slow load times of Firefox (I can't say there wrong about the startup times. However, i dunno how to set separate default browsers (if it's even possible) for each account. I've already tried within Firefox (the confirmation asking) as well as through Program Access and Defaults. Thanks. |

try this: on both browsers, make sure that the 'check to see if browser is the default browser' is left unchecked(no ticks in the box). you can delete off firefox shortcuts from your parent's accounts so that they won't accidently click on firefox. or you could go to this site: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm and download the software(it's free). it allows you set the default web browser for different user profiles in Windows XP, without affecting the other users. there is a way to tweak the registry to change the default browser for all users, but i'd rather not talk into it, since it might corrupt your PC, so i'd rather not talk into that, unless you ask |

Thanks. That did the trick. (the 2nd one) It was just that i hated copying/pasting links from other programs (Word, Explorer, etc) into firefox to open in firefox :p |
