I upgraded from XP home to XP pro and I have no audio. I looked up this problem and found that I'm missing drivers for my audio controller.

My mother board # is (E210882)
and my audio card is made by foxconn (also the card is built into the MOBO)

Try to distinguish if your Audio controller is supported by Windows XP Professional Edition. But the first thing you should do is to Update your Driver.

Go to the manufacture Website of your audio controller (you said it is build by FOXCONN) and download the right updated driver of that kind of audio card that you have. And update it.

If you download a executable driver installer, you just execute it.

If it is only a patch, go to the Control Panel, System, Hardware, and Device Manager and then find your audio controller, double click it and then click Update driver and browse to the file that you download.

Hmmm! I have a question. Did you find your audio controller icon with the following image...

1. Yellow "!" mark
2. Red "X" mark

Reply as soon as possible.

I find it with a Yellow "!" mark

Also the MOBO is an Intel
and i opened up my computer and all the audio card says is foxcoon (nothing else)

The card should be compatible with XP pro

(i really need audio)

So it is not yet updated to use Windows XP Professional. But it is supported in Windows XPs (Home and Professional)

If you update your OS, sometimes, your hardware doesn't function well. So you need to update the driver.

If you have the Updated Driver for your audio controller, update it, or better download a Latest Update Driver to the internet. OK!

I've spent the past ten hours looking for it.

Also I searched the foxconn site and they have no section for drivers.

Hmmmm! Do you have your driver CD for your hardware (it is very important, did you know that?) .

If you can't remember where you put your driver CD, just reply to me the Serial Number of your Audio Controller, the Exact Product ID, and the Product name.

If you can't reply with those information, I can't fix your problem or find your Driver "(Except if I go to your house and see your Audio Controller device or Buy a brand new Audio Controller, a Latest Audio Controller)".

HMMMM! Sorry I forgot to ask this:

Does your Audio Controller Device is a "BUILD-IN AUDIO CONTROLLER DEVICE"?

nah, that's fine. it's actually pretty easy to troubleshoot a PC if you know exactly what type of PC it is
