Sounds like a monitor or graphics card problem to me. If your monitor is a CRT, then it's losing it's gauss (magnetic force). In which case it's time to get a new monitor. If it's a LCD or plasma you have a bad connection, oe bad monitor. I'm fairly sure it's a monitor issue, especially since the problem persists after you turn it off. If it is a graphics card problem, then it's probably either poorly installed, bad, or is dirty. Hope for the last one if anything, either one of the former could ruin the card, or it's already dead. Solution: Clean everything carefully, check all connections, run a system diagnostic, try running at a lower resolution for a while and see if it keeps going, and if all else fails hook up a new monitor/computer to the old monitor/computer and check everything again. |

I'm adding suggestions for you: 1. If you're using CRT monitor, click menu button or what ever on your monitor. Then move the cursor until it reached Degauss. Klik the button select/ok on your monitor. 2. Also, check the port and the cable you're using. There are some cases, they use digital port on the Graphic board and the monitor, but the cable they were using is analogue cable. The codename's r3ck0rd. Find me in my Facebook Profile Page, or in my blog.

If just right clicking the desktop and clicking refresh solves the problem sometimes, then it has nothing to do with the monitor. It's some sort of bizarre software problem. Go to your graphics card manufacturer's website (probably nVidia or ATI), download and install the latest drivers. Check back after that and I'll give you a next step. |
