Here is how. I think (or speak), therefore I am. Any questions on the Big Bang Theory? Ask others or a super-mad scientist that studies that subject. Note: And please, absolutly no topics that are or lead into religion. Science is not religion!!!
... I don't care...

questions about big bang theory? um... what can explain the symmetry breaking that lead to baryogenesis? If you can answer that, there is a nobel prize waiting for you. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We're here for the sake of not not being here... or even worse.. being THERE (*O*) |

The question that always keeps me going is: Why the bloody hell does everything always has to have an even bloodier point? We're here, so what? Why would there even be a reason for it? We're completely useless, and if we all die tomorrow, no star in the universe would cry a single tear for it. In fact, i believe the Earth would even be better off if we actually do die collectivly and simultaneously. We're here, and our existence is utterly and completely pointless, and it kindda makes me funarking mad that people always go looking for some "higher purpose". "The unbearable lightness of being." And... I quote you: "Note: And please, absolutly no topics that are or lead into religion. Science is not religion!!!" I don't wonna sound offensive, but you make me laugh. What in the freakin' hell does your post have to do with science in the first place??? Just because you put the word "universe" in your thread title doesn't make it any more scientific! "Why are we here" is and will always be primarly a religious/philosophical question, rather then a scientific one... .oO° Life's THE CURE, the rest are details! °Oo. |

Thank you for pointing that out Suicidopolis, seriously does there really need to even be a reason (morally, spiritually)? From what I have seen in my life, there really isn't any "reason" why we exist, I suppose we create reasons to give our otherwise morally empty existence meaning and value. I know that may sound a bit nihilistic but for all that I know, it is probably true.
You need a reason to be sad. You don't need a reason to be happy. The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible.

Er...what does contemplating the universe have to do with our being here? Contemplating the universe: hmm...that's a nice formation. Why we are here: well you see, firstly there's a male and a female... OK, OK, seriously. What sort of thread do you take this to be? You start off being Cartesian and wanting to restrict this to a scientific discussion? (In which case wouldn't this be more suited in the Physics thread? Mind you since Gendou-sama moved it to Other...) Besides, there are a few philosophers who would answer God. Even Descartes would have.
Wait a minute, are you sure about that?
