What happens if I upgrade?

I have Windows 98, and surely I need to upgrade it into Windows XP, but I might I always wonder what will happen to my files once I upgrade it? Will it delete all of the data, or maintain themselves?  |

upgrading to winXP won't delete your files. but i reccommend you to back up all your files just in case.(when i was a noob in using the pc,i upgraded my pc to XP without backing up my files...the files got deleted after the upgrade T_T) |

well, any ideas where to put the backup? A diskette won't do much of a job. |

you got a cd burner or an extra hard-drives or a flash-disk? those will the the trick... |

Upgrade to Ubuntu. Not only will it run better than XP on a machine built for 98, it's also free! |
