Well... You say you need knowledge of programming, but could you be more specific which programming you want to know? C, java, R etc...

If you want to start up programming i would sugguest you learn how to use the java programming lanuguage first, i find it alot easier to learn than other languages such as C++ or C. However that said, learning java is the same as learning any real language such as japanese, there are rules and structures which you have to follow, making it a bit tedious at first. http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~hall/java/FAQs-and-Tutorials.html This site has some basic tutorials, and java background, they have some recommended textbooks for beginners. However its not a site for someone who wants to self learn java, you will have to get the textbooks, as there is alot to learn. I would sugguest taking a basic computer science course, as they start by teaching java, it makes learning alot more easy when there is a teacher and peers that can help. |

I'm still on my way learning programming C++ the text books that I use are: Programming Logic And Design fourth edition by Joyce Farell; Computer Science (A Structured Programming Approach Using C) by Behrouz A. Forouzan & Richard F. Gilberg hope it will help you anyways!!!^^

Sams' books are good. @uber_otaku: I think Flash AS is easier than Java and Javascript. Use google or Yahoo! to search for knowledge for programming. Try these keywords: "programming language" "learn C" "learn C++" "Java Tutorials" "learn java" "learn javascript" "C++ tutorial" ".NET tutorial" etc. The codename's r3ck0rd.
