SE Walkman phone help needed

I noticed at least one person here has one, maybe more. I tried the SE website troubleshooting section and there was nothing. The phone is a W810i if that helps. I'm not able to make a ringtone using a music file. It doesn't matter if I have a file in the computer or if I use the Disc2Phone utility to rip directly from the CD. The phone won't recognize it for that use. I find the file and can play it with no problem. I used Jet Audio to rip, and it automatically comverts to MP3 format. So I can't see that being an issue. Thanks for any help! EDIT: I talked with a tech at SE. They said Rogers Cantel and Cingular, among others are known to spec phones so that you can't create ringtones-leading you to buy ringtones from them. They're going to see if that's so and how to bypass it. Meanwhile, they said be sure the file is no larger than 600 KB because that's the limit. |
