Anime games/why there's too many

From recent reviews i've seen in magazine such as game pro and game informer the recent string of anime games are less than satisfactory. It seems that with every anime a lame fighting game or rpg comes out that only makes money due to the anime name. For example the full metal alchemist game was terrible however I'm sure those of us who bought it (including me) where disapointed by the terrible gameplay. Sure the story was intersting but they could have just as easily created an anime about it. In my opinion developers should think about whether its going to be a good game or steaming pile of crap with Naruto slapped on it. It seems every popular show has a crappy game tie in, if you can give me a good example of a good anime game ( and dont say naruto, he has the lamest of all the games) then mabye you can change my mind. |

They have a ton of anime games in Japan, but hardly any here in America. The ones here in America are really horrible and are not worth buying them (not to offend). I never played a game in Japan so I'm not sure how the games over there are, but the anime games in America are just created by bad companys, and if some are from good companys, then they don't know the storyline of that anime or they just got lazy. The InuYasha-Game idea was great. I could've pictured a long-fun RPG-type game, but then the InuYasha game stunk as it released. I heard all about the Fullmetal Alchemist games a while back. Same thing as the InuYasha gaming idea. Games such as Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked or Dragonball Z Budokai (the storyline part could've been more interesting) were games that looked good, but the gameplay was rated below that. I can't say much about the Gundam games since I never played one, bought one, etc., but they look really cool, so I can't say anything about them. Games that are made from Japan, but aren't anime like Final Fantasy or DragonQuest (never bought it, but I heard it the games are really fun and nice) are really well made and popular. I might be dozing off along the way as I type all this out, because I'm really tired and my eyes are weary, and I just wanted to drop out some of my last minute thoughts before I sleep. ~ Good Night Gendou (.com). @feo You might want to start with why you hate the Naruto games and which one(s) you've played. ![]() ![]() |

Are you talking about the GameCube one? That one is okay, but not that great. The biggest flaw in it that I see is the controller (I don't like the GC controller all that much). Have you played Narutimate Hero? Or, er, 'Ultimate Ninja'? While 'Clash of the Ninja'/'Gekitou Ninja Taisen' are more traditional fighters, the Narutimate Hero series gives you a story mode and mini-games as well as nice visuals. It's also full of spamtastic goodness too. :P Hmm, in terms of anime games I don't like.. It would have to be visual novels based on any anime. Shakugan no Shana comes to mind because I thought I would be playing a fighter. I found out it wasn't a figter before I got it, but I still kept it so I could practice my Japanese. Anyway I especially don't like visual novels based on anime because it's all reading, hardly any action. :P ![]() ![]() |

| hehehehe welcomne to the world of cash cows my firend...anime games are becomming the movie games we have been getting...they sell like hot cakes just because of the franchise....its a sad thing indeed since these games suck! it will continue as long as consumers are blinded by the popularity of the title attached to the game...look at the matrix and tomb raider games...they sell good but play like crap....has anyone played battle D.O.N now thats a good example of cash cows!hehehehehe |

| Some of the anime games suck. It's sad, really, since Anime, Movies, and Games are all interelated. The games are only cashing in on children inability to differntiate between trash and gold. Not an Insult to children, but the majority of people will stand by the trashy games for their favourite anime, same with me, which is sad. Inuyasha was a good anime, but one of the games I saw for it was horror. Inuyasha was looking as though he was carved out of stone; totally 2D, when the game was a 3D game. Not Inuyasha only, but the reest of the characters were as well. |

| The new InuYasha fighter had great graphics, and was pretty fun, but it didn't have enough. Every character should have a story mode. And there were hardly any unlockables. There are five InuYasha games. (Three in the U.S.) Three RPGS, and two fighters if I'm right. Now, if they had put all the time and money spent on those individual games, they could have had two great ones! Why didn't they? :( |

Well,it is there's some bad ones and also some good ones out there. Just need to be picky enough.... Gundam games? yes some of them are good, but some of them are also not good. Good ones like MS gundam seed O.M.N.I. Vs Zaft,Z gundam Bad ones Gundam Climax Century (It's not that bad,but I'm dissapointed by it.) If you looking for anime based game, I recommend Another Century's episode 2. It's a blast and make other cashcow game to shame. |

Oh, O.M.N.I. vs Z.A.F.T. is good, reminds me of the old days when I was getting socked in the arcades playing Virtual On ( is that its name? ) And the pilots are done pretty good as well. Lacus is even available as an unlockable character! But Game Battle Assault 3 isn't as well. I've never seen the Freedom fly in that game; all you get are short jumps, maps are pretty small compared to O.M.N.I. vs Z.A.F.T. battle maps, and the numbers of enemies are horrendous. I'll be praying hard for the new Gundam game coming out for the Xbox 360, hope it's not trash! |
