Vampire: the Requim pole/question
Link | by nightmare on 2006-09-05 14:46:32
hey,

me and my friends are having an argument about Vampire.

see, for me, i like to have a "master" sorce on any subect and im a big paranormal/mythological buff. so my "bible" if you will, on vampires is the Vampire:the Requium roulebook.

in the beginning of the book, it gives a bunch of myths and facts about vampires...among them is that garlic and running watter does NOT stop them...that it is an old wives tale. so here is the topic of our argument

"Can vampires cross the doorway (threashold) of a private building without the consent of someone in athority?"

some books i have read enforce this, and some negate it.

so here are my quesations....

#1. does this stipulation hold true in the Vampire:the Requium" game?
and
#2. if (hypathetically) vampires DID exist, do you believe that this stipulation would be in effect? or is it just another wives talie like garlic? if you could explain it any, that would be awsome too....

thank you very much!

Interesting...

I'm by no means a master in the study of Vampires, but I can offer my opinion and a useful source.

Question 1: I'm really not sure, sorry...

Question 2: The concept of a vampire changes with times. Vampires are by no means heavy rocks in the stream of time and social fashions. Recent vampire media, primarily movies, boast vampires who resemble normal hip youngsters, albeit with a strange taste for black clothing, leather, and nightclubs. Therefore, if the nightclub was considered a private building, there's little stopping a vampire from entering and enjoying his/herself. So basically, it seems kinda anti-climatic that a doorway of a private building (especially in today's paranoid times) can stop a vampire.

FOr far more reliable (I guess?) info, check here: VAMPIRES
