Sgt. Frog = Invader Zim??

Yeah I know this is a very strange thing to post. But has anyone else noticed this???

Both series focus around a small green aliens attempts to take over the world yet always failing, in a funny way of course since there both comedy series. But thats not it. Fuyiku (maybe spelled that wrong) and Dib both have obessions with the occult and paranormal. Also Fuyikus family is almost the same set up to. A dominating older sister thats somewhat abusive, and a parent figure (although female) that spends way to much time working and most of the time even forgets she has kids, just like Dibs dad.

Now now of course the shows have 600 times more differences than likenesses, its just those things really stick out to me. I mean I read online about the small green invader likeness but I put all the others togather myself.

And the weirdest part is its almost safe to say Jhonen Vasquez and the author of Sgt. Frog (I dont know her name at the moment, sorry) probally have never seen each others work. Seeing as Sgt. Frog came out around 1999, before Invader Zim was made, but Sgt. Frog didnt even reach America in manga form until about a year or 2 ago, and the anime hasnt even come to America at all!

That's an interesting comparison!

All Sgt. Frog's missing is an adorable little robot sidekick.

While on this subject, be sure to check out Q-Ko-Chan! It just came out a few weeks ago and it's like FLCL meets Invader Zim.

Then again, the concept of an alien trying to take over a planet is common in anime. But then again, Invader Zim has a few anime influences too, like when Tak the Rival Invader leaps back in one episode, she sweeps her hand across her face like Motoko Kusanagi does in Ghost in the Shell.

Oh well, either way, I enjoy both series, similarities aside or included.

Give it time, I bet they might add a robot for him soon lol. Or maybe Tamama can be counted as GIR seeing as he has random mood swings from happy carefree to insanely crazy and battle ready(GIRs red form)
