It doesn't live up to the OVA IMO. It has it's moments, but by the time the series comes to a close, you end up wondering what the hell is going on. The OVA is much, much superior. If you have to compare them, ROD OVA is like a Bond film...with super powers...and boobs, while the TV series ends up more like a B-rated spy film.

I actually rather enjoyed the TV series. Although, yes, the OVA is more coherent, the TV show features characters who are a little more endearing. I rather enjoyed both though, and the fact that the two parts of the series cross over around the end is pleasant as well. |

i started watching the TV series and that was the one i fell in love with, so...ill have to go with the TV series. the OVA is good as well, because it links everything. without it, the TV series is nothing. something i hate about the TV series is that there's too much boob works. i like a clean anime with a good story plot.
