JET Anyone?

Hey! I was wondering if any of you are interested in the JET program or if you've already done it? I am SUPER stoked about it...even though I have to wait five years to do it, considering I'm still in high school...anyway. I've been taking Japanese for three years and I occasionally do some studying on the side. I've been there once for two weeks...and yeah. I can read and write Japanese ok with what I know, but I can barely speak it sometimes. >_< Anyway...JET! If you've done it I would love to hear some stories/advice, and if you plan on doing it...um, cool! We can be JET-future-doer buddies. ^_^ |

^_^ Some people don't know about it, but it's completely awesome...and I'm sure some of you will find it very interesting!! For starters, JET stands for The Japan Exchange and Teaching. Pretty much you go to Japan for up to four years and teach English in multiple schools or other stuff (SEA/CIR). There are a few different programs, ALT (Assistant Language Teacher, what I want to do), SEA (Sports Exchange Advisor), and CIR (Coodinators for International Relations). As an ALT you can teach at one or more schools. There is a Base and Regular ALT and a One-Shot ALT. It's a really cool program. ^_^ http://www.gaijinsmash.net/ This website contains the tales of a current JET teacher who is on his thrid year. I must stress though, it contains EXPLICIT CONTENT (in his stories/editorials, no innapropriate photos). So do not read if you are offended by talk of private parts of the body. |

Were we supposed to able to speak japanese?. I heard that to work in japanese we have to passing some kind of exam...like nouryoku shiken? Sorry, i never heard about JET before. |

Yeah! I wanna apply.. but I'm too scared that I'll get rejected. (ï¼.ï¼;;) â†(stupid, huh?) I've just heard that it's a really hard program to get into.. because, it's the most famous one for teaching in Japan, I guess. |
