Link | by kara-chan on 2006-08-10 23:09:40
So, I don't know how many people know about this manga. It's fairly popular in Japan and on October 3rd this year, the anime is coming out for the first time. Is anyone excited about it? I know I am

Hey cool! I knew it was only a matter of time before the anime was made!

I know the Japanese version will be great, but I'm scared for the inevitable US version. Oh well, D. Grayman might appeal to fans of Bleach and Inuyasha, so it should do well!

I find that animes that tend to go over 50-70 lose the plot and fillers start pouring in. I hope that doesn't occur because D-Grayman is a really good manga and I'd hate to see fillers ruin the story.

I really hope that the anime won't be ruined. As long as it doesnt go into a naruto-style filler arc, I'm happy. The manga's been great so i have high expectations for the anime.

I've read the manga up to the 9th volume, and I love it...
Am I the only one to feel there's a similarity to FullMetal Alchemist? Ranging from the characters (Allen and Ed, the homunculus and Noah's descendants), to the whole atmosphere (a very serious script with a bunch of jokes in the middle), I always feel both are very similar.
I like series with 26 episodes, less than that seems to be way too little and more makes it a bit hard to keep watching. A lot of series manage to tell the whole story and even put some extra loose episodes in the middle with 26 (CowBe, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7...)
52 episodes is also good, as long as you have enough stuff to tell (like FullMetal).
By the way, on the same day Death Note is going to start airing! That's another topic, but I also want to watch that ^^

Hi^^

I knew this manga quite sometimes already. Actually I wrongfully downloaded it from the a fansite. The characters are very Hikaru no go alike. But then, the illustration was done by Hoshino Katsura-sensei. Anyway,I'm glad that I've had it downloaded and the anime is great!! I'm so excited about this.

Allen Walker is so kakkoi!!!The seiyuu of Allen is Sanae Kobayashi. But it's still cool. The OP is great too!! It's Innocent Sorrow by Abingdon boys school. The lead singer sounds like Kinya :D

This is definitely gonna be another great anime ^^

Ah, D.Gray-Man. <3 The only manga to give Fullmetal Alchemist a run for the title of 'My Favorite Manga'. I have read all 92 chapters and I really love it. <3

I have also seen the first episode, and here are the pros. Allen's voice is ADORABLE! I just wanna give him a hug! >///< The plot followed the first chapter very well, only changing a few things. The things that weren't changed were almost word-for-word, frame-by-frame the manga. They only changed how the police woman's sister died slightly. And how Allen arrived in the city in the first place. But if you can survive the first 3 mins or so, then it gets really good.

Now, the cons. Allen's hair is WAY too short, Rinali's hair now has green overtones, the color pallet consists of black, grey, and dark blue, and the Millennium Earl sounds like a dunk old man. I laughed when he spoke. I didn't get the whole sweet 'feel' from his voice. It didn't sound like 'I hate you and am now going to painfully rip you into pieces~! <3'. It sounded like 'I AM A BAD GUY! heehee. Oh yeah, Happy Birthday akuma...'. Not what I was hoping for. :/ Oh well, sometimes voices get better with time. And I truely hope they lighten things up a bit when Rabi comes around~!

All and all, or would give it a 4.5/5.

But I'm waiting for the next episode, when it looks like they skip over Allen's heartbreaking past and go straight to the introduction of the Black Order... :/

"Well, I'm not sure. A little voice in my head is saying 'this is a bad idea' but I can barly hear that little voice because an even louder little voice is yelling "LET THE 12-YEAR OLD DRIVE!'" - from The Cat in the Hat

The first episode wasn't bad. I felt they had lost a bit of the gory victorian goth feel the manga had, though. Allen sounds absolutely adorable- he overdoes the '-desu' part though. Reminds me of Souseiseki from Rozen maiden a bit, the way he says it. Is it just me or does he look a bit...older, so as to say? Not so much like a little kid anymore.

I love D.Gray-Man. It only manga that I never sick of it.

I love innocent sorrow so much. I think they will use this OP for a long time.(Well, they have Tiki Mikk in it.)

But WHY!!! Why they skip chapter 2&3 of manga. Isn't it important.

Someguys tell me when allen invocated his innocent it look like they made of plastic.

Haha, I'm addicted. I got hooked after watching the 1st episode, now I'm almost caught up in the manga. xD It has a very interesting plot, and I love the mangaka's style. The opening and ending themes are great too. <3

I just got started on this series too, and I can't help but Absolutely Love It. XD

In the manga, doesn't Allen sometimes look like Ed from FMA? My friend said she doesn't watch it because Allen reminds her of Senel from Tales of Lengendia. Must be the white hair, lol.

The only thing that bugs me about the anime is that the fight scenes are too dark. The only way I knew where Allen was in episode 3 was because of his hair, lol.

I'm really looking forward to Ravi's appearence.
