I've got an .avi file type that is about 900 MBs. The problem is I'm already using a K-Lite Codec Pack, but I'm still getting a message that says "Media Player Classic could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system." "The following pin(s) failed to find a connectable filter:" It says the pins that are missing is a video pin of some sort. What do I do about this? I've tried different players such as DivX and BSPlayer but none can play it. Thanks. |

Well, it just depends on what type of avi file it is. What is it, and where did you get it. I'll see if I can figure it out. |

You mean there's different types?? I got it on a disc from a friend recently. He said it was an avi file that he got off torrents and that was that. It has characters on it so I don't know what it means because it comes up in boxes. I know him well enough to know it's not any kind of stuff that would screw up my PC or be some inappropriate thing. I even asked him and he said it was not. |

.Did you play the avi file in the same user/(windows account) where you have installed the codec pack? If not try reinstalling in that account. .try using GSPOT software so you can be sure what kind of codec it needs. :-) .or try installing different codecs; check free-codecs.com i'm sure there's one that works.

here's what i reccomend 1)uninstall K-lite codec pack and other codecs you've installed before.restart PC 2)download CCCP and read thisfirst before installing(note CCCP is about 5.6MB) 3)you're done.you should be able to play most videos without much problems |

The K-lite codec pack is much more complete than the CCCP. If you're having trouble with an obscure video file, try uninstalling K-lite pack and installing the K-lite Mega pack, which has even more codec stuffs. Also: an AVI file is only a container format. Within an AVI file the audio and video can be just about any format you want it to be (from mp3 to OGG to uncompressed wave; DivX to MPEG2 to H.264). |

For some reason, it worked with the CCCP pack... I think it was because I accidentally had the K-lite installed too. I'll try again with the Mega Pack (wow, by looking at the size it is MEGA). Thank you everyone! |
