Hi all, Would you recommend a software that can convert video files to DivX, Xvid, AVI, MPEG, DAT, etc. on a fast rate. I've been trying some softwares and all of them seems slow. Of course, these are for some of my anime collections to be watched on my MM Player :-) Thanks.

almost all video converter convert videos at the same speed. in the end,it all depends on your processor's speed,size of the video and what format you're converting it to.it also depends on the setting on the converter. Find me at Twitter and Google+

Download the DivX Converter. I use it for re-encoding videos for superior video compression. Try it. Download it here.

Can someone recommend me a "freeware" program that converts RM/RMVB files to .avi, mpeg... etc. ? I've been googling for a free program but I still have no luck finding a good program. i only know how to compress avi file, use virtualdub and change it compression method with what you like, it has divx, xvid, and other codecs (of course you have to install support codecs, use klite mega codecs get it at codecs.com), it also can compress the sound to mp3, aac, etc. get virtualdub at virtualdub.org by the way why some of you want to convert rmvb or flv to avi?, because this two file types is smaller in size than avi, means if you convert to avi the movie will be downgrade at video quality.

yeah I agree with dream3r, I use Super for all of my converting needs. It even allows you to take screenshots of a clip, or change the resolution and other properties. Awesome program :)

I recommend Total Video Converter. It can convert just about any movie type. As for it's speed, I think it works pretty quickly. "Exploit code, not people." -hackbloc.org

I believe it is much faster than most of freeware and even shareware apps(I have tested it myself just to be sure).You can customize it a lot.Good for beginners and experts alike.It can convert almost any type of video formats i.e, RMVB,MOV,DVD,MP4,AVI,DIVX,XVID,H264,3GP,FLV,MPEG etc. and even many audio formats like MP3,OGG,AAC,M4A,FLAC,RM,AMR etc. The best part is that its completely free. You can also create videos for Mobiles,PSP,iPod,Zune etc. and other various media players. I use this application to create videos for my iPod in H264(Mp4 container) format(best format in the world right now), Other similar programs use the basic Mp4 format which is poor in quality.

wow..to much converter, erm, freeware that i use currently winAvi, Riva, ImTOO3GP(this is good to convert flv to avi, no worry of the codecs), swfconverter and some othes. also, if you want to watch flv file in higher resolution, i mean just watch, download Klite Mega Codec(i dont remember the version, but one with flv codec). its save your time from encoding or decoding.

just google Any video Converter it should bethe first few download it and it will let you extract youtube videos and convert almost ne video to windows media player format or what ever
