I was just wondering if, at some point in the future, this site may change to using an OGG format instead of MP3. It never hurts to be prepared for the future, and the future is open source! |

No, no. Playing OGG files is easy. Just download and install this and you can play OGG in almost any player that couldn't already play OGG, including Windows Media Player. |

i believe u can use this program called "foobar2000" to play ogg format files. that's the one i use. Heh, i once tried converting ogg file into a mp3 file, and the result was a mp3 format with about 35 mb size for 3 min music! XD ![]() |

i agree that open source is the way of the future. and i also love ogg format, its rocks! at this time, there are still too many people like HongyNgyWongy for me to begin to change over to ogg. maybe i could add one or two as a test, but i know there would be hundreds of new threads in the help topic should i do so. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@HongyNgyWongy, i reccomend downloading CCCP first.then try playing with WinAmp or MPC.it works for me^^ @Gendou, .flac is way too big(35 megs for a 3 mins music?wth...)...which is one of the many reasons i hate it...:) |

alrite... alrite... i got it... thanks everybody. though i really dont like winamp, i'll use it for the .ogg files. anyways, theres a file from 4music (a title something like that) that can convert .ogg to .mp3 without the 3 min song to 35 meg. it will just be 10 meg or somethin like that. |

why not simply play it in Media Player Classic if you don't like WinAmp?and 3min song for 10megs is still kinda big... |

with the past changing phase of technology i think .ogg have a high probability of acceptance, the quality doesn't suffer but a big difference in size does it's really amazing. And on top of that there are many free softwares available that can convert audio formats into .ogg files. then try downloading codes from some free codecs website... get the site? hehe.. :-) try using k-lite codec or matroska or the many codecs available and u'r ogg will play in any of your preffed player :-).

mp3 player? you can just change it to .mp3. I dont the size doesnt really matter since now days, everyone got ipods (not me) or zen creative (me) or whatever. Most are in the sizes of 4gig-60gig so, yea, i think having 20gig(on an average rate) is plenty of space for songs 10meg+. I dont know for u people who have tens of gigs of music on your computer. for me, i use a 5gig mp3, i have songs taht are 10meg big, some even 50meg big, but i still got space. (if u got a mp3 not in the gigs, i feel sorry for u, no critism or anything) |

...@hongyngywongy- 50mb songs?...crazy talk...i feel sorry for you if you have songs that big...no criticism or anything... ...need to save space...i can only carry 1GB on my PSP...XD...btw..can PSP play ogg? |

The PSP only supports MP3, MP4, WAV, and AC3 format audio. MP4 AAC would probably be your best bet for quality/size ratio. It's the format that iTunes uses by default, so it can convert MP3's for you. |
