Riviera: The Promised Land

This isn't a new game at all, it's been out for a while. But I was wondering how many people have played this...

Never even heard of it. Sounds fun if you took the time to make a thread, but I just have a few questions;

System(s)?
Type of game?
Comparisons?
Highlights of play and story?

Hope it's another one of those "diamond in the roth" RPGs like Legaia 2 or Legacy of Dragoon.

I played and beat this game. Nice way to pass summer I guess.

@Shishio-san,
System: Game boy advance
Type: Unique. Mostly strategy RPG, but with a choose your own adventure kind of twist.
Comparisons: Hmmm, Tough to say, pretty unique combination of two genres. I don't know any other game that uses the same kinda system. It's not as good as Chrono Trigger, but it has those kinds of story choices that affect different endings.
Highlights: Very long game at around 50 hours the first time. Lots of secrets and bonuses. Beautiful anime style and pretty cutscenes, nice music too.
Story: Hard to describe. You play an angel called Ein who gains amnesia and helps a bunch of elves destroy an evil armaggedon type thing. Nice twists and people die. See for yaself.

Hope this helps, it's about 35 dollars I think. If you got nothing else to do, check it out.

One of my favorite games, I bought it for only one reason if you know what I mean, and the game is excellent!

One reason? You mean the naked sauna scenes? That's a good reason right there...

OH, THAT GAME!! Wonderful. My freind Jett asked me about that game, said he heard very good things about it but didn't catch the title. I can tell him what it is now (thanks). I'll try to check out at some point in the future, but there are so many games I'm meaning to play, especcially on GBA and DS, the most underrated and underappreciated systems out there. Many, many years from now, when I retire I'm going to play all those old games. I bet a lot of people from our generation are going to play those games during their retirement, too.

In my opinion, Hades was senselessly easy if you had a healer on the team.

Do any of you know the name of that new game the creators of Riviera are coming out with? I remember that the game play is somewhat similar, or at least the combat is. It's sort of more strategy oriented.

You got to find the Hades Key. It's somewhere in the cave where you fight death.
