Hi, could anyone help me with my problem... Everytime i start my computer, open 'My Computer' or any other programs it takes almost a whole minute or two to open up and i am using a pentium 4 unit. It started when it was formatted becuase of a pesky virus and at first it was still fast but as time passed by it got slower and slower. i don't think it's a problem with the memory since we are only using 30% - 4o% of it. I already defrogged it and that still didn't work. What should i do, counld anyone please help me. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

try this these... 1)Making Windows starts faster and using less RAM 2)your RAM is too little,i suggest adding more RAM.for the time being you might want to add in more for your virtual ram using the following: -Right click My Computers and click on properties -click on the 'Advanced' tab -on the 'Advanced' tab, under 'Performance' click on Settings. -when the Performance Options window popped out, click on the 'Advanced' tab -on the 'Advanced' tab, click Change,a box with 'Virtual Memory' will pop up -select 'C' drive -click on the Custom Size button -on the box called Initial size(MB),type in 128 -on the box called Maximum Size(MB),type in 256 -click on 'Set' and then OK all the way.that should help with your ram for the time being.you should buy more ram (minimum is 256 MB,92 MB for RAM is too little...) |

I suggest you buy a new DDR ram for 96MB of ram is not enough to run WinXP at least 256MB. Or try this: go to run. and run "services.msc" it list the services that winxp run automatically you can manually restart some services here but be careful. or go to run. run "regedit" click HKey...LocalMachine->Software->Microsoft->Windows->CurrentVersion->Run and delete the unusefull entries that you find. :-) But be careful editing the registry can cause your pc to malfunction. ok.
