Joe Cell
|
Do you believe that the Joe Cell exists and works? or is it just a hoax? Just curious on peoples views.. for those that don't know what a Joe Cell is, it is basicly a water cell that has infinate energy. Try searching google for more detailed info. I am thinking about building one this summer when I have more free time. Has anyone here tried building one? |

First of all, there is no such thing as infinite enrgy. There is, however, an abundance of energy all around us. Getting it in a form we can use to power a car or ligth bulb is the tricky part. Now, the "Joe Cell" is described as an electrolytic capacitor which stores ionized water vapour. Of course, how do you ionize water vapor? There is great disagreement on this because, in practice, there is no easy way to do it. Wacko theories range from using the ambient thermal energy in air to some magical force. The ionization energy of one molecule of H20 is far FAR greater than the deliverable thermal energy of normal atomispheric air. Otherwise, we would get shocked when we touch any standing water (as it would be constantly ionizing)! While 99% of the bullcrap you see on the internet is total baloney, i would assume there is some interest in using water as a source of hydrogen for fuel cells. You will never, ever, see a "Joe Cell" in anyone's back yard that actually works. If you wanna learn about something interesting, hydrogen fuel cells are where its at now a days. Therein, the trick is to get ionized hydrogen using a green (environmentally safe) method. It would be easy to burn coal all day to ionize hydrogen, but you arent saving any CO2 emissions there... I think some brand new Fast Neutron Reactors would be a good start! We dont exactly have time to wait for fusion reactors, which will take a long time to build. Since our fission reactors are going to have to be shut down soon, we are going to need more power plants of SOME sort. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
