I've never been a real big fan of science fiction, in fact I never even saw the last two Star Wars movies. But I do love a good scifi story. It's just so hard ot find a good one that's not cheesy. Are there any real good movies about science fiction that you guys would recommend? If you haven't seen "Signs", go rent it today, it's really good - a very relistic view of an alien invasion from the pespective of a single family. One of the best movies I ever saw, and it's by the guy who made Sixth Sense. The ending is ridiculously cool. |

have you seen 'the fly' ? its a good movie, watch it i also recommend 'predator' (the first one) also 'the terminator' and 'terminator 2: judgement day' (stay away from the third one!!! =_=) |

| Which "The Fly"? Theres are many versions of it. Oh and I saw Predator and all three Terminators. |

(the original one) how about 'aliens' ? (you know, them black aliens that when they open their mouth, a smaller pair of jaws comes out?) maybe 'the ring' (is that sci-fi?) |

"Sphere", "Event Horizon", and "Jurassic Park" (the first one only) were very good. "Equilibrium" was also a very good action movie set in a sci-fi setting, starring Christian Bale. All movies by M. Night Shamalan are excellent by default, it seems. |

Really? I heard Sphere sucked but I'll see it now- I loved Event Horizon too. There was no movie like that ever! Check out "Contact" too, it's by Carl Sagan who IS one the most important scientists ever (he was mainly an astronmer, which is like a space scientist, but he was more than that, even an awesome TV show host) and he was problaby one of the most important people of the last century. As a kid I idolized him. I had no idea for like ten years either that he wrote the book that became the movie Contact (thanks Gendou); man, I had no idea he could write too, he really was an amazing man. |
