How can I save a Flash from Youtube?
|
I tried to save the webpage where the video is but whenever I replay it offline there's nothing in there. Do I have to connect through the net over and over again just to watch the same video? |

if you're talking about downloading the video... Try downloading the video at http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php then play it at FLV player(you need to download a FLVplayer to watch it. |

Get firefox then go to :https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?app=firefox&q=download+helper&cat=5&type=E&appfilter=firefox&platform=null&date=null&sort=newest&perpage=10 download"download helper".After installing,go to your youtube video, and the downloadhelper sybmbol would be blinking(it's beside the url)just click on it and the rest is self-explanatory. Note : to watch video from youtube u will need FLV player |

There's just one problem though, the flv player's system requirement is windows 2000/XP, and I only have a Win98, that's why I need a safe converter to make it into a file that my system supports. Any suggestions? |

One good way to save flash files from youtube is to download a firefox extension that helps you download flash files. You'll just have to browse for that extension in the firefox extensions page. OR Look for tutorials in youtube itself. There are plenty of youtube videos showing you how to download flash files. imppy, Why not google for similar and free applications? |

I didn't think those were flash vids... go to www.keepvid.com I think that's it, say something if it doesn't work. Type in the url in the slot, and save the file extention as "(name).flv" You'll also need to download an flv player, the site should have a link. I have a related question, how do I record the audio of an flv file? |

I should hope not, I have a relevant question... Because of the flv file.. how do I record its sound? I don't think we need a whole new thread for that. |

You can use the Super program to convert it into an MP3 or other sound format as well as video.

@ Nekorin I agree with EmptyMind, the audio format should be mp3 rather than any sound formats for better quality. The way SUPER encodes the flv file is pretty complex, but I tried not to play with the other buttons and go for the default settings--the only settings that I've changed was the Output container as .avi, the Codec as H.264/AVC or it can be MPEGI and the Audio codec as mp3. Unless someone here that has the same program as I have had a better setting to convert it into a .avi file, then feel free to post it here. |
