Can I post lyrics of songs?

I was just wondering if I can post lyrics of songs that I have and are not on this site?

What would be the purpose for doing so?
If you have translated the lyrics, you may freely publish your work on this forum.
However, if you found the lyrics on another website, and wish to submit the link, please do so in th "Report Problems" topic.
I believe there is already a thread for "Missing Lyrics".
