Adverbs?
Link | by 聖竜 on 2006-05-29 18:26:30
Sometimes I see after supposed adjectives (the い ones), they replace the い with a く and when I look at lyrics, they end up being adverbs.
Is this correct, and are there other ways to make adverbs?

Yes, that's right. Changing the final "i" in i-adjectives to "ku" and the "na" particle to "ni" with na-adjectives will get you an adverb.

So "taisetsuni" would mean importantly?

taisetsuni would best be translated as 'carefully'

I think "with care" would be a better translation.

Also I think there is some confusion regarding this. "taisetsu" isn't adjective. It belongs to keiyou-doushi (形容動詞). This part of speech doesn't exist in English. So "taisetsu" isn't a good example for this. Adding "na" after "taisetsu" would make it an adjective.
