Hihi!! i was just wondering... is it legal to take screenshots of Animes, and then edit them, and then Upload them onto Fan Art sections of websites?? I'm not quite sure if its legal or not..but i want to creat fan art in respect to the creators of the anime.. ^^" im not really explaining this well..but if anyone could give me some info on that then i'd be really grateful, thank you!!  |

From what I know, I think fan art means that you have to actually create the art from scratch. Like, first you draw it, then maybe colour it. Anyways, I don't think that by using screenshots it could be considered a fan art. That's just from my point of view. I'm not entirely sure..so you should wait for other people's response as well, in case I got some points wrong. hehe. Btw, it's nice to know that you're willing to create something in respect of the anime creator. Go you! ^-^ |

from what your saying, why don't you just get photo's online and use them, unless you want to get caught with copyright infragment charges or something!? but besides all that!! If you really want to become a TRUE FAN ARTIST for the ANIME CREATOR, just draw them. Fan art is fan art, and drawing anime from your best try, is the best way to show how much you like the anime, forget about if it's nice, or not nice enough, not everyone in the world draws the best or the same, for that fact!

Fan-art you must start from a blank peice of paper ^^ After you draw you colour^^ After you colour you upload them^^ THAT is Fan-art taking from a screen-shot is not Fan-art DID you draw the characthers,Surrounding emotions??If you did then you can do anything with it  |

yeah, I agree also. Fan Art basically means - 'self'-drawn pictures inspired from anime titles. Basically that means, fan art is a 'FAN' piece of artwork/anime work that is drawn from you, not by a t.v. shot (??), internet photos, just you and the piece of paper.

| About editing the screenshots, I have seen some wallpapers that they edit the screenshot by changing the background etc. Is that illegal? Anyway fan art is something you draw by yourself in my opinion... |
