What classic anime should have a remake/sequel?

Venus Wars needs a remake.

"Right...or left?" "Left!" "He parried it!" "Amakakuru Ryu-No Hiro Meki has been broken!" "Gaaah!" "The final secret sword..the Kagezuchi!"

Dragon Ball Z, GT, etc...that series might be dead after Dragonball which was nice, btw. InuYasha should be shorter, it doesn't seem like a long-type anime, but too late for that as well.

...

Right when I saw the title of this thread, I thought the same exact thing, Shishio.

WE NEED A VENUS WARS REMAKE!

An Iria remake would be nice as well.

Fushigi Yugi remake would be nice.

Well, they did kind of remade Fushigi Yuugi a few years ago. And I personally don't think it's old enough to be remade. :P

I wish they could remake Gunslinger Girl. It is one of my favorite animes with a great story and great characters but it was WAY to short for me. Fortunately the manga is still ongoing (US currently at volume 3, kind of annoys me how it literally takes a year for each GG manga release here...)

I'm happy with how fushigi Yuugi was remade. For me, Slamdunk, Trigun and Flame of Recca deserve a remake!

Was Fushigi Yugi a remake? It thought it was a digital remaster of the old one. Also Gunslinger Girl was good it just needs a second season.

Yeah, a second season of Gunslinger Girl would be good. I just feel that it's too short for such a great series. It really needs to be lengthened. In comparison, the manga is a lot longer than the anime.

Gravitation needs a sequel, it was too short for my taste.

The Pita-Ten MANGA, not anime. I wanna see what happens after Shia and Misha go away/die.

Fullmetal Alchemist should have a remake, if not a continuation.

Guys, you're not understanding the purpose of the thread -- we're talking classic anime here, not anime that has been made very recently!

Tekkaman Blade... which itself was a spiritual remake of the original Tekkaman. A great sci-fi tragedy that isn't nearly well known enough, imo...

Definitely a remake of Tekkaman Blade I loved the original. Also a Sequel to Gundam Wing and Vampire Hunter D.

there IS the Vampire Hunter D remake, unless you're referring to a true sequel, which would also be cool. Also, on remakes, I never did like Speed Racer, but it might be cool to see a modern version with crazy racing scenes, and seeing those well-known characters all modernized would be sweet.

Thats right! Fullmetal Alchemist should have another sequel because there is something missing about other related stoies that are not included.

For example, in Episode 2, when the Elric Brothers saw a mysterious reptile-like lady chimera after they finish the fight with the priest. I watched all of the episodes but nothing happened about the chimera.

Someone said that there is a story about that chimera and it is said its on a PS2 game called Fullmetal Alchemist: Curse of the Crimson Stone.

In other anime, I would like to remake Vandread for having short episodes.

Isn't this about "classic anime", not new stuff that'll get OVAed like next year? Oh, and we do need a Venus Wars remake, especially with the modern day themes!
