yeah, next-gen console for nentendo changes name from 'Revolution' to 'Wii' quite shock for me, but name dosent matter for me, i still gonna buy it anyway what are you guys think about it ? epeacailly non*gammer, i find mostly gammer dosent like wii name alot

It's "weee" unfortunately, but i'm still buying one nonetheless cause it's gonna cost $199.    |

:P Wii More Wii LOL And yes, hopefully they will make more hardcore games, RPGs with dynamic and kickass storylines (as a writer, the storyline of any game is the most important), and, oh yeah, REVERSE COMPATABILITY... cool :D Don't have to ix my old games, and I can sell my GC.. for... 25 bucks or something :P |

I thought they announced that the system would be backwards compatible with all gamecube games and that they will set up an online network where you can download a couple of old games coming from NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis, Turbo *something* and Nintendo 64. This is the main reason i'm getting one ^^ |

Actually, I just checked and nintendo promised to have a feature where you can download old NES, SNES and N64 games... although Turbo graphix and sega genesis aren't verified and are still considered only rumors >.> Then again maybe you're right and they are lying lol |

they cant download the games of non-nintendo companies anyway.....its copywright infringement and that illegal as they come... |

humm, why are they calling it the Nintendo 'Wii, that's so strange. I've herd the news on a comercial, this will release at this years E3 on G4. I can't watch it anymore because Comcast(gay as it is), took out some channeles of mine, including G4's channel, Ch. 164.

Well Mario is like Mickey Mouse, they're both very popular here in the US, but I think Mickey/Mario should retire. HOW MANY GAMES HAVE MARIO IN THEM!! LOL!!

... Nintendo bought out Sega (or is in cahoots with 'em).. where have you been? Notice the Sega games being developed on the GameCube, like Sonic and Skies of Arcadia? Yes, the Wii system will be backwards compatable with the GameCube, there is a compartment at the top of the system that allows you to plug in GC controllers and memory cards, and the small disc fits in the same slot that the normal-sized Wii discs go into. If you want a whole crapload of information on the Wii, look it up on Wiikipedia XD Also... it seems another name for the Wii was "GameCube 2" Nintendo will die out when people stop playing video games, or when they can no longer develop systems at low cost, completely pwning the PS3 and XBox360 in terms of price. |

| i read somewhere that the name change might be complete bs and that nintendo might make a final name change announcement at e3... but then again who really cares about the name?.. as long as it works |

The name won't affect my decision to buy it, being a lifetime Nintendo fan. ^_^x However, I think the name will definitely have a negative effect on those who already saw Nintendo as a "kiddie" company that's just not as cool or hard-core as Sony/Microsoft. Plus I think a lot of people are still a little put off by the controller alone...  |
