Anime...an addiction?

Can anime be called an addicition? This is want I was ask by a fellow school mate and it got me thinking. All the money I put into anime dvds and manga, also how i nearly live off ramen just to save up for a new box set. Could anime have addicts and be in the same class of Everquest? If you say yes then state of your are addicted? |

| I think anime is fairly addicting i mean i sometimes save my lunch money up for anime(as pathetic as it seems yes). I think anime addiction is different from other addictions by alot. It opens your mind and lets you visit new worlds and enjoy the adventures of your favorite anime characters, which sometimes remind u of ur self(very much so). Well anime for me is a relief from the crazy amount of homework i get and it gives me something to believe in. Well thats what anime is to me. but what about You? |

Crack makes you feel good too, as does drinking alcohol. Most things can be addictive. You just have to make sure it doesn't take control of your life. Even good things like anime could ruin you. It's all about moderation. Over this side of the word you can buy bags and wallets that read 'Anime. Crack is cheaper' And I for one have to agree with it, as well as laugh. I love anime. I could watch it all day long but of course that would be bad. There's other things that need to be done. I think when it gets to the stage where you have to have your dose of Anime every day in order for you to function at all it is a pretty sad state to be. I'm totally addicted to anime music though. If I don't have my fix each morning I start to feel it drag me down. Thank goodness for CD burners and mp3 players!

I think its a addiction. I sometimes, think that I live in anime life. I do have a hope that I can live off from anime. I buy animes like its nothing. I think I already spent $5000 worth on anime and manga. I don't know why its so hard but its very hard to quit watching anime. |

since as a baby anime has fulfilled my dreams and soon my future. i own more than half of the anime ever seen in the whole world. including movies! animeseeker7 and animefreak are my names given by the 2 highest anime production companies ever. hint....bandai enterainment the other is even more popular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I admit it I'm addicted to anime. I spend 90% of my free time in watching them, and even if there is no free time ... I'll make some. Anime completely controlled over my life, it is hard to be resisted. |

is anime an addiction or not? well, maybe or maybe not, i'm addicted to anime to some extent, addicted to all anime songs but to those that i've watch already. and maybe you'll learn some nihonggo, but some are not! although i watch anime sometimes but i love it in anyways! maybe beacause of some artworks and also the story, you'll learn some moral values, some are not? you'll find something different in anime than other cartoons that's why i'll love it! |

my comp crashed a few weeks ago and I had all the episodes of NGE(subbed) on it, and i thought i was gonna go mad the few weeks i didnt have anime to watch... I'm not addicted... I can stop whenever I want. I just really don't want to.

yes, i reckon anime is an addiction! its kinda da same as watchin DORAMA aka japanese tv dramas... i cant stop watchin em once im in 10+ episode... >.<

well, anime in general isnt obsessive I would say, but how ever....when it comes to Kamui (X), I kind of am obsessed with him, so I guess its closer to the characters then the animation its self, but its amazing all in the same^.^

I have some question... If you call being addicted to the anime is an otaku... Hmmm... That's kinda freakish. I heard some Japanese people has that Anime fetish going and I think that's an addiction, or more its an obsession. I have addiction but I don't think I have obsession. |

Trust me......there are weirder fetishes then an anime/henti fetish. like foot fetishs....those are just weird. but I dont think anime its self is adicting, just the characters, because they are so damn pretty lol

I am addicted to anime, I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm not a 'hardcore' anime addict (by hardcore I mean cosplayer, have tons of DVDs/VHS, posters/statues, etc.). But I am getting there. AAA: Anime Addicts Anaymous (can't spell -.-;;) Offical Dropout.....LOL

| I am abit addicted I suppose. I often dream of anime and tink of anime dough. I dont watch it everyday but I would like to watch a few if I could. I say being abit addicted to anime is better than being addicted to bad things like drugs and alcohol. If u really compare, anime is better in a sense. However, if u r totally addicted to it like u dont eat of sleep to watch anime, then it is very very bad. U got to have control over yourself. Too much of anything is bad I suppose. |
