currently i'm using a desktop which connected to a router with local area connection,when i click on Internet Explorer icon the internet window doesn't pop up but Internet Properties window... i typed the homepage and click OK but nothing happen.... can anyone tell me what's wrong with my pc??  |

hmm...check if your alt button is being pressed down or stuck.it happens to my pc once in awhile because the alt button kept on getting stuck on me.. |

em...nope the alt button is fine......how come... and also when i click on start menu the icon of Internet Explorer appeared is a globe instead of the usual icon with alphabet 'e'...... |

someone must've changed the icon...not sure about the internet explorer problem though...have you tried re-installing it? |

you mean re-installing the window? yep,i re-installed window xp again one week ago but after that it was stilling working fine just yesterday the problem appear.... |

I'm connected to the internet,although i can't open the Internet Explorer window by clicking the icon but i still be able to open the internet window by clicking the website in bitcomet(right click,open in new window)....I'm using my own connection through desktop connected to router..before there is a laptop and desktop connected to the router so shared connections, now i'm not longer using the laptop so just desktop connected to the router.... and when i go on Control Panel--->Network Connections, it shows "Local Area Connection [Connected, Firewalled]" i wonder will there have anything to do with Firewalled? coz this word appeared when i'm having this problem.... |

erm...the security and privacy settings are in medium.... or how should i renew the settings in firewalls?.... wonder why 'Firewalled' will suddenly came up...@_@ |

@nurii Don't put yourself down man, any help is appreciated! :D @aino Yeah, try downloading and installing FireFox. Not only is it a better browser, but it might fix your problem. Actually, I see what the problem is now. You say you're clicking on the globe thing? That's to your internet connections, and that's why you see .. well, you're internet connections. If you want to find Internet Explorer, you can go through your Start->Programs menu and look for it. If it's not there (it may have not been installed correctly or it could have been deleted), go download FireFox and 'Rediscover the Web'™? Hope this helps!    |

Yep much help is appreciated^^ Ok then, yep the globe thing...usually it is in 'e' icon which when i click on it i'll go to internet explorer window but donno why it changed to the globe O_o.... guess it was deleted or something...how should i fix it back? beside, FireFox and Rediscover the Web both are web browers right? |

Lol ^^;; 'Rediscover the Web' is FireFox's slogan. And yes, it is a web browser just like IE with added features. Check it out! Anyway, as for IE being deleted.. I'll come back to this topic when I get home. :x I'm at school now and I don't have time to explain. >.> |

Alright, here it goes: Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs List of programs should pop up. On the left-hand side, click 'Add/Remove Windows Components' and a window should pop up with 'components'. Scroll down in the list (you may not have to) until you find Internet Explorer. If the box isn't checked, check it and click Next. Now it should install whatever components were checked, and if you haven't touched it before, it'll go by it very quickly. Aaand, I hope this works! If not.. well.. x.O |
