A Goth is like a person who wears alot of black, tlaks to noone, and smokes alot...always saying how life's betrayed her/him..really a lonesome! punk type people are dif...they atleast have a life and enjoy it a little bit!..I would know what a goth is, im in a school with alot of em!!! I talk to like 2 gothics but they're not really goth? idk what to call em but they laugh and tlak and w.e.

dont anybody is goth here on Gendou but its possible...do Gothiic ppl use the internet, lol, maybe in school cause their forced to...but you'll never know..

Wow,i'm surprised so many people don't know what Goth is. I'm not one myself,never will be,but our school has at least 100 people claiming to be goth. |

devils-angel: I don't think that's what a goth is, either. I think that's just a HT poser, like Doctor said. I don't know what it is about the internet statement, though. :P Kutuso - So many people don't know what a goth is because hardly anybody who claims to be a goth actually IS a goth. |

I know what goth looks like, and I know what they are. Or at least the people that so-called-them selves "goth"... But what is a TRUE/ REAL goth??? I've always thought that goth people are just people who wear black, and quite depress/ having problems. But the people at my school who claims to be a goth, by wearing all black at all time, are not really depress. They aren't lonesome people, and they still joke around, laugh, and do normal stuff... If I think about again, maybe those people aren't suppose to be called a goth... maybe.... So, what is a true goth??? |

yeah,your right Daedalus. Gothic is supposed to be about being a loner,not fitting in,etc. Its really just an expression,however some "Goths" just do it to fit in to other poser Goths. Funny thing too,I saw this Goth chick with the whole black routine,spike bracelets,etc. and she was air headed and happy. Gothic is a stereotype as well,you can't REALLY define it. |

Gothic is a lot like punk. It's hard to describe to those outside the group. From what I can figure, keep in mind I'm only punk, Gothic is to be induvidualistic, pessamistic, fascinated with the macabre, disillusioned ofothers and society as a whole and possibly self-destructive. I think. I may very well be wrong. |

Nightmare is the goth of gendou. If what you say is goth than I qualify as goth. Maybe not at gendou but in public I wear all black, completely lonesome, no smile, no talking, sits in the corner, and depressed. I also have a fetish for necromancy. However, a true goth isn't just the way you act but also the way you think. Also, goth style is no where near punk style. Gothic clothes, which I happen to be very interested in, are the old victorian 16th century type clothes. If you really want see gothic clothes style first hand go to Harajuku in Tokyo(goth fashion haven). You wont find any gothic clothes in Hot Topic. True goths are quite rare. People always mistake punk and goth for being similar, when thay are actually very different from each other. Also goth music is completely different from punk music also. Ali Project made some pretty good new age goth music(adding modern aspects to old style goth music), check it if you are interested. Here are some good ones: Gesshoku Grand Guignol, Mirai no Eve, Kinjirareta Asobi, Seishoujo Ryouiki. If you understand Japanese then you know the lyrics for those songs are quite goth. The anime those songs are for have goth aspects in them also. (One of them is cutesy goth, in harajuku goth is mainly just for fashion)       Jomunga eats your avatars. |

i can give ya all few examples of these j-rock bands, that r Goth(it's explained in the 1st page) and Visual Kei(guys wearing black,purple,other colours lipsticks,dyed their hair unnatural colour,uses make-ups,and dressed themselves cool,pretty,etc...their hairstyles r like anime..very cool...Too bad americans like Green Day do not have that style they only have the goth and punk style...Visual Kei is a style "only" in Japan...and a style japanese created e.g: Gazette,Alice Nine,Dir en grey,Miyavi,Kagrra,Kagerou,and a lot... |

@Jomunga I didn't mean punk and goth were simillar in content, just explanation. Punk and Goth are the two most misused social categories there are and I think you could agree with me on that. |
