My 5 iconic favorites that may or may not be available here.... 1. Akira - Requiem - 14'26" of pure symphonic bliss. Composer Shoji Yamashiro cobbled together a masterpice from the short thematic sections that comprise it. Geinoh Yamashirogumi's perfomance of it is simply a gold standard of anime music! 2. Gunbuster 'Megafinale' - 16'27" composite track I made for myself from 3 tracks from the 3-CD sound collection composed by Koohei Tanaka. A great musical end to a classic anime series! I call the 3 tracks of the megafinale 'Welcome Home' (4-odd minutes), 'Piano Coda' (1 minute+), and 'The Gunbuster Suite' (10-odd minutes). 3. Fairy Dreamin' - Genocyber Soundtrack (UMIZO featuring Koyuri Shimizu). Quite possibly the best 'go for broke' anime soundtrack J-pop song I've ever heard! Ms. Shimizu and UMIZO perfom the song like their lives DEPEND on it! 4. Follow Your Dreams (vocal) - Project A-ko (I) OST. I have a bit of a soft spot for this song as this was one of the first I've heard in an anime: great instrumentals and vocals by Valerie Stevenson. Listening to this song can brighten your day! 5. What a Fool I Am - Before X-Japan's "Forever Love" for the X/1999 movie, this haunting ballad by Lou Bonnevie (from the A.D. Police OAV series) really seemed to stand out and be more memorable to me than the otherwise excellent songs that appeared in the companion series, "Bubblegum Crisis" |

Ok, I had to think over like 50 times for this....5 seems so limited. but I'll try. This is my conclusion: (In no order of preference) >> Gundam Seed - Akatsuki no Kuruma (Can't believe I actually picked only 1) >> Gundam Seed Destiny - Fields of Hope >> Hikaru no Go - Tie between Zutto Konomama & Get Over (I really can't pick) >> Detective Conan - I'd love to say 'Almost Everything!' The first intro/ending that I liked the most as I listened to them in the anime was: Negai Goto Hitotsu Dake. Otherwise I like the theme "Kimi ga Ireba" the most. And literally all of the Mai Kuraki, ZARD, and Garnet Crow songs... I'm sorry..I ended up picking more than 5...oops ^^;  |
