for me Athrun Zala because he can control his emotion during battle and he can fight even he is not using the skill of a coordinator ^_^

ITS A HARD CHOICE BETWEEN KIRA AND ATHRUN. SHIN IS A THIRD RATE PILOT. HE CANT MAKE HIS OWN DECISIONS AND HE CANT PILOT WELL HE GOT LUCKY AGAINST KIRA. THOUGH ShiN DOES HAVE THE BEST GUNDAM THOUGH. IF IT ONLY HAD THE NEUTRON JAMMER NELLY

If this had been the best pilot in all of Gundam series, I'd choose Heero Yuy. But best pilot in GSD? I'd go for Athrun! Why? He's a soldier. Not afraid to kill. Kira? His civilian status enable him to fully utilize his ultimate coordinator skills. Plus, throughout Destiny, Athrun is the only one who hasn't gone into Seed mode until the very end. ~I MAY NEVER RECOVER MY LOST PAST BUT I CAN CREATE MY FUTURE....~

I'll vote for athrun anyway, he's calm in battle, he can face Shinn in Seed Mode more calmly than Kira. (see the Gundam Seed Destiny OAV)
