When they came back from their second hiatus, they did the Shibuya Seven Days concert.
Though it wasn't the best lyrical performance for HYDE since his voice was pretty choppy on some songs.

They did a few of my favorites, too: flower, Driver's High, Anata, Lies and Truth, etc.
I wish they did a modern day version of "flower" live more though. I love that song.

after having so much money, good idea to spend eh?XD

and sakura worked with ken as the drummer on SOAP.

Yeah, their first hiatus was rough, though fans continued to support them.
To be honest, I never liked Sakura. In all the videos I saw with him and Laruku live or not,
I don't think I've ever seen a smile on his face. Plus I prefer Yukihiro's drumming style more.
Though some fans left Laruku since they were Sakura fans I guess.

I think even today, he works with one of the Laruku members on their side projects.
I think it was Ken, though I'm not sure. Sakura is still the drummer.

Their second hiatus was when they decided to start on their solo projects.
Y'know, HYDE and "Season's Call" and whatnot, etc. This was when HYDE did other stuff, too, not just making songs.
Nothing bad happened to the band either, I don't want you to get that impression,
they just decided to work on their own stuff after what, 10+ years together as a band?

Their third hiatus, currently active, is probably just the same way.
They can't leave their solo projects, though I think it's good to take a break once and a while, y'know?
Hang out with other people, friends, family, work on your solo projects, watch anime and sleep, etc. XD

He usually does, since he moved to Vocalist.
On one of their AWAKE Tour performances of "STAY AWAY",
they had a little part where Yukihiro did vocals, though I have no idea what the song was. O.o`

I haven't really dug deep into all their solo projects before,
though quite frankly to be honest, I'm not that interested to tell you the truth.

I've never heard Ken's solo project though, but the band name is so funny. XD
All of them do have partial success though, since fans still support their prior-Laruku work.

If their hiatus is gonna last for about three years, that's a long wait man!
They had two before but I got into Laruku after their second hiatus, so it might be tough. :/

SHINE/NEXUS 4 is scheduled for a double release at the end of this month.
Other than that, they're doing their solo project work again, so no.

About the video, I love the effects. Gave me a few ideas for this upcoming website design year for me in school.
The vector/slight grunge is so well done, and talk about Vivid Colors. XD

Of course they add some pretty girl in, out of random, haha.

Off-Topic : Gundam 00's 2nd Season OP is done by UVERworld.

Anyways, back to topic.

@Engel : I think thats how it was suppose to be, distorted, hyde's face i mean.xD
and yeah, i compared their old songs and now, you can really hear the difference, and hyde still looks, not old. O_O .
ken looks like those middle-aged men (or those smoking uncles . xD ).
yukihiro still looks. okay though. he is liek, showing an emotionless expression all the time he is playing the drums.

Err... I like their songs, but I don't really know much about em except that they made openings for some animes like FMA and Gundam 00. I wonder if they'll be the ones who makes the opening for Gundam 00's 2nd season...

I really got into them with Daybreak's Bell when I heard it in Gundam 00, but I haven't found other songs from them.

Wuuu~ The shine vid has lotsa colors~ nice effects too but... it does distort HYDE's face at times =X

Even though they have grown older (I could see age on Tetsu's face... T.T), HYDE seems to have never aged... perhaps he's like what Gackt would like to be... a Vampire~~~ muhahah!! But with that face, how can anyone not love the band!!

lol, I thought you said "ignorant", I was like, "what!?" XD

HYDE can control his highs and lows a lot better because his vibrato is developed (mature).
Before, he didn't really have a vibrato (if not one at all), it was just the sound of his voice.

Automatically if you listen to their songs and albums by year,
you can tell (just by listening) that his voice begins to expand and you hear his vibrato.

I say they're well beyond their prime in these modern days,
simply because the band has matured to a very high point, including HYDE's role as the vocalist.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me of it's two week RELEASE DATE!!
The video is simply beautiful. A lot more colorful than "MY HEART DRAWS A DREAM",
though that MV had that black-white-tan (brown) theme to it, which was nice.

I'll have to listen to this song a few hundred times to see if it surpasses 'MHDAD' in mah system.
I've already sung it a few times, pretty much mastered the TV Sized version.

About them looking old, technically, they are old but are probably better than ever.
I still say that they're in their prime, right now.
Once they're done with their friggin' hiatus-solo project work, they're gonna probably sound even better!

Mo~~ You have to be nuts not to love this band. So good. (●>ω<●)

Okay I don't live in Europe, so don't quote me, but a lot of it, yes.
They had an "AWAKE" tour in the US, was kinda rough.

They also had the one concert where they all match, which is rare for them, haha.
A similar comment came from Toshiya for their one shows on their Family Values Tour (search "dir en grey dvd rip" on youtube).

Though at that one show on Laruku's AWAKE tour,
you can find a few clips maybe on YouTube, the crowd was singing a lot to "LOST HEAVEN" which was nice. ^_~`
Also, "AWAKE" was supposively some US only thing, too. Strange.

WOW! I didn't know that Europe totally accepts Japanese Music... thats good to hear.

Even so I know that HYDE has had at least one concert in USA... and he commented that those people who attented were not "heated" enough.

Region 2 = Europe, Japan, right?
I think there's one more, not sure though.

But anyways, Europe, unlike American, totally accepts Japanese Music with open arms.
J-Music is totally admired and loved in European countries unlike in the US where it's totally discriminated against.
Though I know some areas love Japanese media (like California, a bit of NY, etc.).

A few Visual bands do well in Europe, and Dir en Grey is loved in the west side of Europe, too.
Though with these notes, it's quite understandable with America and international music...
