Bullocks.. You can make others happy. And it can, in turn, make you happy. I'm going to have to come here more often... you guys talk about stuff and do stupid shit at the same time. That sounds like a good plan. All they do at the Depression Thread is talk about weightlifting and writing essays. But yeah... Barkeep! Something... good. |

Ok good, I started reading about four pages back and was worried that by the time I reached the latest post it would be too late to put in my input about angsty teenage problems. I am 17 years old and im not sure how old the rest of you are so just take my advice with a grain of salt. I have been single for three years now. It is not for lack of trying and I am told that I am neither impersonable nor ugly so it is not something I can control. I am apparently just really unlucky. I work alot, I read alot, and I have a great small group of friends I would trust my life to.Some would see those things and become depressed. Lord knows I have at several points. But I see life as being worth too much to stay unhappy. You have to look at all the good things going on around you. I think I know how you feel about this girl doc because I have felt similarily about at least two other girls. It is really hard but it passes. It may be one of the defining moments of your life when you realize that things will not work out with the one you believe you love but with time it gets better. You just have to kind of roll with the punches and not let anything get you down. I dont know if im rambling or if anythis is even helping and im really tired so im prolly leaving alot out but there ya go.  |

Sigh.....yes you can get otheres happy. I have done it, so I know its true. yes you can get yourself to be happy....however... there is usually a REASON for it. Like what someone said.... what someone did....something you read....etc etc etc.

Hmm.. Group therapy eh? Well I guess I could just go ahead and start it by saying that im uberly stressed over all of my responsibilities. As in looking for colleges, working, schoolwork, carinsurance and gas bills for teh car, girls, friends being crazy, lack of sleep, forgetting to eat.... I think that might be it. All in all I think im handling myself pretty well considering the slightly overwhelming circumstances! Whos next? |

Listen mate, I was in the same situation just last year, what with looking at schools, financal aid, appartments, the lot. Add on to this my personal problems and you have a real shite year right? What I did was sit back and just breathe. At least once a day stop doing everything and think about nothing. Meditation like. Also walking in the rain helps. Just separate yourself from the problem for a bit and go back with a clear mind. Inner peace leads to external sucess. (This coming from a kid in Community College...) |
