And yet you still say you can't draw flowers for life, then we'll look forward to your other drawing very much! ^^ @Haruhi Koko he youkoso... Hai, zenzen wakarimasen deshita... So we'll stop with the japanese. :P Well... Please show us something soon! We're looking forward to it... And i... Still have no new stuff >.< |

Wow it has been such a long time since I have been here I just dont have much free time anymore T_T and wow I can't believe how many new pages of drawings and artists there are. Since I can't possibly review them all let me just say everyone is doing a fantastic job and I can't wait to see more. @ Rabbit Not bad for your first work it's not lousy at all I like the contours and details you put into the petals of the big flower. Don't insult your drawing I think it came out great for your first attempt you should post other things too. @ Shinji Cute Chibis I like the way they both came out as well as the expressions on their faces nice job keep it up ^^. Alright since I haven't been here in a long while I thought I would post a drawing. I finished this up just recently before I went back to school, this drawing took me quite awile I am not sure exactly how long but it was long enough. The details for the arm were extremely difficult to get accurate and to draw you have no idea how many times I had to redo it to get it right, but when I first saw this picture I knew I had to try to draw it myself. I really like how this one came out the broken arm as well as the facial expression. Alright this time we have Edward Elric looking all shocked with his automail arm all busted. After those major project in Bhudapest, I've been given a break time (for a day or two) before continuing on the touch up process. And to be suprised, the project completed way ahead the predicted time. So there's a chance I have a lot of free time once I'm done with this work. Oh, my sister's here too? Hi !For those who want to have a peek on the potrait of me, she did drew one of me (though it's a long time but I believe it's still there) could you preview that drawing for me, please? I would be happy to see it through here. Luckily, I've manage to grab hold one of the hungarian background specialist to assist me in giving comments for the recent drawings. He can't speak good english, so we decided to compile our results together and he wishes to give marks for the recent works, for something more 'clear' (this is what he says) I shall begin from the last reply I've made, starting from ..... Rabbit-san To Rabbit-san, Your's simply unique because your colour of your drawing is not black but instead is brown-like. As you know, brown is a colour of nature and also all kinds of green some range of blues and green-yellow. And to be honest, all colour ACTUALLY can be a nature's colour, it's only the matter on when to use it. I know it's smudgy, but as long it's not visible enough, it's fine the way it is. Besides, Smudging is another technique too. You can apply it on to some places where the visible contrast of lighting is needed. The only bad thing about smudging is that once it's done rubbing it is not going to be easy and it require a big-scale potrait where space is vast. I like it, so keep it up. And his opinion on this is that the way you draw it resembles of those chinese painters who paint the scroll-like art size artwork, though smudgy, but ok to me. His score was (% count) : 70% To Shinji-san, Both him and I have a near similar with this drawings or yours. For the first drawing, the character do have the Chibi look. But we could see dents around the mouth, as though you're trying to get the right Chibi mouth expression for it. And we believe, roughly, that you were drawing this on a paper which is on a soft book or a stack of papers. This can be avoided by drawing it on a solid surface instead. And also we can see another 'magic hand' at the spoon handle. I believe it was a change of mind for a certain reason. And for the cup, it's a little rough. The best way to get your into the shape you required is through still-life drawing. Still-life drawing is drawing a still object (very still) of both living and non-living objects, from what you see from your eyes, and 'print' it on to the paper. Since this is anime, once you've completed your sketching, simply add your character where it should be. And for your second drawing, I believe it's teamwork's drawing. It's ok in sense that there's simple shadings and colour. But we believe it can be better in the next drawing. So, good luck. With this, we are able to give you some advice on how to do a little better (not to the best, but better than before). For overall, you should try out two different methods we know: 1.Plan First, Do Later. -Try to plan out everything from scratch (e.g : the right expression, theme, decoration etc.) -Apply what yuo've plan and chosen on to the paper (It is advisable not to press your pencil too hard if you're not confident enough to do it straight) -Once everything you need is there, simply apply anything you like into it (e.g : Shadings or colouring, darker lines or more lines or more on something else ..... it's really up to you) Result: More clearer drawing , 99% smudge free , but comsume more time. 2.Direct, But Carefully. -Start out with a lightly-sketch work (Advisable again not to press your pencil too hard, it might make rubbing the unwanted lines difficult) -Fix whatever which is unessessary in your drawing, lightly. -Add the final touch, lightly again. Then when you think it's the right thing you wanted, darken the lines (plan which lines needs it more or less or none) add shadings etc. Result: Also a clear drawing, 80-90% smudge free, comsume less time. I hope this could be useful enough for you. His score is : Drawing 1 : 65% , Drawing 2 : ~60% To Silent Soldier, He's very impressed with your drawing, and so do I. It's very realistic in the sense that everything is shaded to make it look like it is. I believe hmmmm-san did one of your style few years back and came out near to yours. Though it's very good, but by taking a closer look, we spotted a minor errors on it. One is that some part of the character's lighting is not to the right way as the rest. The second thing is that we spotted a faint white anomaly right in the middle or the drawing, like it is somehow over removed, But if it is supposed to be there, then kindly ignore this one. And lastly, the shading on the lower part of the body, especially, seems to not match the upper ones. Try to do the same thing as you did on the upper part of the body to give the more realistic looks to it. His score is : 90% I heard you're an idol to others in this thread, famous for drawing drawings of another drawings. I'm wondering, is it a dream that you want to be a manga artist? Or something else but still something to do with anime? Do reply back to me, I'll await your answer. I believe we need a proper break now. Good Luck ! |

@Ayanesa-Chan: hahahahhaha....i didn't really "draw" it with pencil or anything like that. It was an etching so i engraved the lines....and yea...it was a bad copy, i didn't rub the paint off so well and theres the explanation for the smudges >.< |

@angelus- hmmm... i guess its just a generic shout, like "ãã•ã¾!!"? i think i shall call you angelus from now on, "hmmm" is too.. generic =P @ayanesa-chan: yea, i guess you're right about softening the lines, but i think i need to get thinner pen first =P G2 pens are quite hard to vary line thickness with... hmm. what kinda score would your friend give me? =) =) @roq- woo! really? me, a manga-ka? hahahahahahaha! *happy* =D lalalala~ @kurakura- hmmm..... too rude? dont worry, just say it =D @rabbit- yeahh, i should have colored or shaded it =( heyyyy! i don't see why you're embarassed at all! maybe embarassed at how good your drawing is? now anytime you say your drawings aren't good enough i shall use this drawing against you, so post more already, no excuses! =D although.. what exactly is an engraving? i thought engravings were those things on blocks of stuff.. so how come theres paint involved in engraving stuff ._.; @ayanesa妹-ã¡ã‚ƒã‚“: nice ta meetya! ã‚ã‚„ãã•ã®ã„ã‚‚ã†ã¨ã¯ãªã‚“ã ã‹ãŠã‚‚ã—ã‚ã„ã²ã¨ã ãï¼ la la la~~ @silent soldier- HEH. the broken arm with the shading and mechanical parts really do look VERY nice. heck, it looks several times better than the original scene in the anime itself!!! omg hax! okay, tomato. yeahh.. wednesday. halfway through the week. almost the weekend!! |

To Rabbit-san, Oh, ok. That explain the brown colours, my volunteer commentee (the Hungarian guy) just got fooled by it. He taught it was the work of pastels, but I doubt it, so I waited for your reply instead. And I don't think it's a bad copy after all (You did manage to 'melt' hmmmm-san's heart because he's a nature lover), it's very nice indeed. And I can simply avoid the smudges with ease. (since it's etching process) To Mp4c-san, The recent drawing did made me re-login back and modify my reply. But it's ok. I see clear, but moderate improvements compared to the last drawing, and with the applied, simple background, that's a "+" to your drawing, that's because background helps to give a "visual" answer to viewers that it's not floating. It also adds more of something else (I could'nt explain it right now, right now I'm passing my rest time. So, I'll explain it to you later). But if you prefer no background instead, than making the character's shadow appear might make a good replacement for background, but the bad thing about this is that it requires lighting effect for it. You mean the hungarian man? He's taking a nap now, sorry. But if you need MY score, I would porbably give you ..... 72%, and it could get higher with shadings alone applied in it. By the way, my lil' sister too do not understand hiragana writings. But she do speak Japanese, as the matter of fact, much better than me. But, I really hope that you could brace yourself because she's so fond to Malaysia that she thinks that she's one of 'Malaysia' and might get furious if someone thinks she's a Japanese still and gives her ..... sort of what you write right now. (Just in case) |

@jov: I told u ppl, this is ETCHING!!! E. T.C. H. I. N. G. In pure etching, its the "method of engraving in which lines or textures are bitten, or etched, into a metal plate, usually copper, with acid." I engraved the lines into my plate. After thats done, I covered it with redish-brown paint (usually its done w/ ink). The paint would go into the lines that i made. Then i wipe off the excess paint on the surface. Finally i placed the plate into the printing press and i can make as many copies as i want as long as i keep doing this procedure... Now do you get it? 0.o |

It is informed that Miharu (Rei sister) is personally banned from using her sister's CPU and any CPU (No CPU is allowed) as she is neglecting her studies ( I've got a phone call from her mother saying that she was invited by me (why do you always lie..... ) and I said no , and the result is a personal 'ban' . It is also told now that it is highly possible that she'll NEVER be here ever) . Wish you luck in your studies and hoping for your return. Her sister did get the message too . I'll comment later . That's it for now . |

@ Ayanesa-Chan Well 90% thats not bad at all I am glad you approve of my drawing. In response to the minor errors you mentioned I am actually quite aware of them actually I did them on purpose the different colored shading in certain areas was just because I wanted to change the drawing up a little and do something slightly different from normal. In some of my drawings all the shading is the same and everything is uniform but other times I like to do different things and experiment you know. Thanks for the kind compliments as well as your critique of my drawing it was very well done and comprehensive, I hope you will continue to give me your thoughts on other drawings I post. And about maybe being a manga artist or something like that I really don't know. I have been asked before and I have thought about it but I am not sure what I want to do right now drawing is just a hobby something I do for fun maybe one day it will be more I don't know gotta think about it, I am flattered that you think I might be able to be a pro and that you think my drawings are impressive it is nice to hear ^__^. @ Rabbit, mp4c and Zell Thanks you guys I appreciate your compliment's they mean alot ^^. |

I'll post my drawing later... maybe not to often because I don't have a scanner ready... but I've like two or so drawings that I've scaned last year. Don't worry... the drawings are already done long time ago and I'm working on my new personal project. Ja ne! |

KYAAHHHHHH!!!! So many new artworks! XD I congrajulate you all especially Katsuomori and Silent Soldier! You guys are doing GREAT! Makes me wish I have a scanner right now. I did however managed to scan one old drawing of mine from work (heh, heh. naughty kitty) Anyway this was done last year after my thief-girl (those who've seen it might remember it) However this is not the original one. The 1st one was confiscated by my techer during class (opps). She never gave back and I had a feeling she threw it away so I didn't bother asking for it. Altered a bit in photoshop, but that's it. This was a bit of a rushed piece so there were things that were a bit off like shading and some other things I can't care to point out now. Plus, I was too lazy to correct those mistakes so it's here as you see it now. The face is the same, but the original design for the dress was different (couldn't remember how the first piece was). But it looks ok either way. As for what type of class she's in... well... I wanted her to be a sorceress, but she wanted to be a teacher. I wanted her to dress elegantly, something that could make her stand out from a crowd (like a rich cloak and a long, long dress), but she wanted something simplistic yet tasteful. After much deliberation we decided she'd be a professor at a university of magic. Hopefully she's happy with the outcome too. Hmm..when I look at her now the though 'sorceress' doesn't seem to fit her. A mage maybe, but... Watever. Anyway that's all I'm going to post. I won't know when my next one will be. Plus, I still owe a certain someone a certain piece he requested. To the person in question: I'm so So SO SORRY! Bad Kitty! Bad! X( If anyone knows how to post images as thumnails, please tell me. I forgot how to do it ^^; |

Hey everyone! My sketch is done! It took a little while, although I'm still not entirely pleased with certain parts of it. Please offer any criticism or advice, I'd love to hear it. From the Final Fantasy 12 cover (My dad borrowed the camera, so back to cell pics. It looks too small and some of it got cut off. Oh well, better than nothing): Right then, enjoy! Now then: @Rabbit, that's an absolutely beautiful etching! It looks very natural, and there's nothing to hate about it at all! Excellent job! @Shinji, hey both pics are very very cute. You're coming along at a nice pace! @Haruhi, welcome! Hope to see some skill from ya soon! @Silent Soldier, hey sensei! WHOA! That's an INSANE amount of detail! Ed's arm looks so cool, and his shocked expression is astounding! It's so difficult to find really anything to critique. Thanks for showing us another beautiful work! @mp4c, you're really skilled at drawing interesting poses for your characters, which is great to see! Great job! The cute girl theme of late is very pleasant! And the last pic has a FLCL vibe I really like! And yes, I meant it when I said manga-ka. @evil kitty, that's such an elegant picture! It's exudes serenity, great job! Okay! Have fun everyone! |
