well Kngdom Hearts is alright but i dont really care enough about it...... i usually go for the more in depth games like final fantasy. But it is not suprising all the good game are comming out for PS3 like Kingdom hearts and Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Who honestly thought the next proper Kingdom Hearts installment *would* be on the PS2. It's the Next Generation people, they're not gonna' spend millions of dollars on a popular franchise while gimping it to the PS2's gimped system. Hell, it was inferior even in the last generation. The console wars have spoken. *Important* titles aren't coming to the PS2. |

Well, just to tell you Phallio, A way game companies can make more money is to sell as much of their game as possible. PS3 did not sell as much as the PS2. So the most logical reasoning is that the KH3 would be on the PS2. Now Square Enix (formerly known as Squaresoft) used to be a Sony Console Platformer (Technically still one). So it is 99.999% agreeable KH3 will only be on the Playstation Platform. (This is to kick the hopes out of some people that think it'll be out on any other console) Now you know it costs TONS of money to even switch games from xbox, Nintendo, and PS. Well, not as much so to switch b/t consoles in a certain platform. So I'm thinking that PS2 and PS3 copies will be sold. There's one thing that bugs me though. Sony DID state that the PS3 unit is actually making them LOSE money. So taking this into consideration, if the KH3 were to be sold onto the PS3 only, Sony would dramatically lose their profits because of the increased number of sales for the PS3. The only way for Sony to keep themselves from losing anymore is to keep the sales as low as possible. Thus, knocks out the idea of KH3 being on PS3. But, technology does get better and better, and soon if Sony sticks to the price it's at now for the PS3, the development of the blu-ray drive will become cheaper and will push the PS3 into the profits. So if KH3 comes out in one more year or two, the blu-ray will certainly become cheaper for Sony to develop. The way you worded your words , Phallio, tells me you own a PS3, right? Well, just answer this question for me. One year after the PS2 came out, how many games were already available for it? And now look at the PS3. See my point? Anyways, to give you guys some numbers, # of PS2 consoles sold in June of 2002: 30.02 mil # of PS3 consoles sold in June of 2007: 4.28 mil Now what makes sense as a game developer? I believe I would sell the game for both PS2 and PS3 systems. (Selling it to the PS3 would make SONY lose money, and I want to pay them back for all of the crappy customer service they have done on me and make a bit of money in the process.) P.S. Phallio, please don't use the console wars for this kind of thing. Console wars is a war b/t the Xbox360, Wii, and PS3, not b/t games on a specific platform.  |

Actually, I do not own a PS3, and probably will not for quite some time. Why would an increased number of sales for the PS3 make them Sony *lose* money? I don't understand that at all. Shouldn't that make them *make* money.I thought the point was for them to make sales in the first place. Square Enix's booth at the Tokyo game show may not have revealed alot, but they do have upcoming titles for the PS3 and X-box. The PS3 hasn't failed *yet.* Why would anyone doubt the arrival of a Kingdom Hearts game for the PS3? Your reasoning makes no since to me. Why would they spend more time making a version for both the PS2 *and* the PS3, especially considering that Nomura is working on FFXIII versus. I'm not saying a PS2 release is impossible, just unlikely, where as an installment on the PS3 is basically a sure thing. With the supposed Kingdom Hearts games for the portable systems and all the other odds and ends things Square's doing, I highly doubt they're at a loss for money. And it's not like FFXIII is going to be on the PS2, why would Kingdom Hearts? P.S.I refer to the 'console wars' as a joke if anything. And there's no use arguing over this is there? Whatever happens, happens. Meanwhile, I am looking forward to seeing the 'new direction' they're going in with the franchise. I'm sure it would be an amazing experience on the next gen. |

Yeah, well the PS3 is making Sony lose money. You need to read up on the blu-ray technology. A typical blu-ray player costs over the 600 dollar line. Oh and look at the ps3, not only does it have a blu-ray drive, but a 7 core processor to boot and a RSX nvidia graphics card. Sony said that they were gonna lose money from the PS3. It's all over the console news everywhere, Gamespot being one of the prominent ones. I'm surprised you didn't know. That's your answer on the selling of PS3 and Sony. Now why did Sony make a console that'll make them lose money? Well, Sony has many other industries that it can use to cushion the impact the PS3 will have. Also, Sony needs to develop a new console due to competition from Microsoft and Nintendo. I was arguing for there's going to be a PS2 version of Kingdom Hearts. I wasn't doubting the PS3 arrival. Square Enix, looking at their past records, evidentially is using the Kingdom Hearts franchise to boost profits. The portable games are there to prove it, drawing in more people... Heck I think the cellphone game is more than enough evidence. I remember that Chain of Memories was on the GBA, and I thought it was odd that Square Enix/Soft would actually turn from single-platformer to cross-platformer. I hope that filled the holes I left in the previous post I made. If you read this and then read my previous post, you'll understand what I meant. The PS3 should have a release so people who got the PS3 won't miss out. At least, that's what SQE should be thinking. I'm just saying that SQE will make more money if they sell the game on the PS2 since there is a super high number of them in the world. I mean, look at the figures... 1 year after release PS2 sold to 30 mil. I own a PS3, and I'm gonna say all I used it for the whole entire time was Motorstorm, Resistance and Blu-Ray movies. The rest of the fun goes to the Wii. :p The Wii owns the 7th Gen Consoles this time. As for my PS2, it'll collect dust until KH3 comes out (if the PS3 isn't available), or another Ace Combat game is out. Now if KH3 does go on PS3: Can we swing our controllers to swing the K.blade? :D There was one game that I remembered I moved the controller forward to melee a person. I wonder if it'll be possible for KH3. If so that'll be AAA Awesome. ... Nevermind, I just thought of how hard it'll be to use the swinging motion for Dual Wielding K.Blades... T.T Now just for something random, WHY NOT PORT KH3 ON TO THE COMPUTER?? T.T |

Well, I suppose their intention is to gain money in the long run by dominating the market. (for non-casual gamers anyway) I'm looking forward to quite a bit of next gen fodder myself, especially from those lil' developers such as Team Ico. I'm sure they'd create something truly beautiful. Though I have no PS3, I find it pleasurable to keep an eye on things. (though I could care less about hardware specs and all that jazz...) KH3 on the computer?....ew... |

Too bad it happened already. KH3 is released in PS3. If you want a better graphic then you must have better console, meaning, PS3. All Fatal Frame 1,2 & 3 are played on PS2 and Fatal Frame 4 is played not in the PS3 , but on Wii. T_T I want to play KH3, so I have to buy a PS3, but I want to play Fatal Frame 4, so I have to buy Wii. Damn! If only Fatal Frame 4 is played in Ps3, then I will not buy another console. Ok now really about KH III I read some stuff in the google and i got one conclusion: Yeah the next serie will be for PS3 [taking out the Kingdome Hearts 358/2 days thet it is about Roxas and it is for DS (ugh >.<)] BUT the content on it varies! hahaha I read that maybe have Sora and Riku and More Xehanort Maybe have the story why king Mikey got the KEYBLADE! [Omg why i want to know that!?! he is Disney! If you say he has it them he have it XD] lol I doubt all those XP So what you guys have already heard about it? |

If they made a ps2 version, people wouldnt buy a ps3 right? so of course their not making it. and their all going for better graphics also. I wanted god of war 3 on ps2 but its on ps3.. that means itll be 65 bucks instead of 40.. I have a ps3 bc of mgs4 ff13 etc.. just the cost per games is kiling me now. that extra 20 bucks makes a big difference. unlike some of you who steal games on your modded ps2's... maybe thats why KH3 will be on ps3 so freeloaders cant get it mwahahaah!!
