To be honest with you guys... I dislike Malaysia.. What is there to like here anyway? Except the food.. Cause the chinese here are always treated unfairly and MOST of the people here have a mind of a 3rd world country.. I dunno how is this country gonna survive for the many years to come.. I'm getting outta here as soon as I graduate.. Adieu~ Plus, the education system here is like disappointing.. *sigh* All the best living here.. Don't at least some of you guys agree with me??? O.o

Death Kamehameha: How old are you, BTW? I'm thinking that you are around the range of 14-18 -_- So I have a few words to say about this. MOST? Excuze moi, but I resent that statement that most people in Msia have the 3rd world country citizen mentality. That generalization is an insult because you're talking just mainly about people you know. Sure, our education system sucks: THAT WAS THE MISTAKE DUE TO 20+ YEARS AGO. And there are probably a lot of things that the government do/have implemented that we really disagree with. If you don't like how the government is running this country, THEN VOTE ON THE NEXT ELECTION FOR A NEW CHANGE. I must beg to differ about us Chinese being treated unfairly. What about our Indian brothers and sisters? Haven't they been treated unfairly too as well? You can't keep this all Chinese-pride - I guess it never crossed your mind that there are more people who are of different races who are also suffering. If you think being Chinese and suffering is terrible, wait till you hear about being Chinese/Indian, being discriminated because you're not Buddhist/Christian/Hindu/Islam and suffering. You probably weren't in those shoes before, so you wouldn't know about it. By the way I'm looking at it, you're just looking at Malaysia on a small scope. You don't even know what's going on but just saying things that you've seen or heard proves how naive you are. I was like you once. Until I had a very educated lady, Marion d'Cruz as my lecturer that I actually noticed how naive I was about what I knew about Malaysia - in fact, it wasn't even substantial to say I dislike about Malaysia just because of what I've seen or heard. Sure, but have you really looked into the history of M'sia or looked into anything about M'sia: politics/economy/social and question yourself for once WHY IT WAS THIS WAY and in WHAT WAY SHOULD IT HAVE BEEN and thought about the possibilities of the reasons WHY IT BECAME THIS WAY INSTEAD OF THAT? I admit, there're things I don't like about M'sia but there're so many things that I do love about this country. I love the people I've met. I love the memories I've had. I love every place I've been to. I love not just the food, but the amount of beautiful different cultures that I embraced - be it art, dance, way of speaking, way of dressing- everything: Culture is such a large word that there are so many things to say about it. I love the fact that I had a great time in school, and I love that this country is slowly embracing certain things that they were finding it hard to accept before and new things that were taught to. There are so many things for us to love, to me, that outweighs whatever I dislike about this country. So, stop being naive. If you think most of M'sia are still having the 3rd World Citizen Mentality, please BUY YOURSELF A TICKET to watch a play in KLPAC and then you'll see how re-educated you shall be. Travel around the country and live with the people in those states for a month or so to understand how it's like to live there. Read Malaysiakini, or Raja Petra's blog or some other blog from the Opposition side to find out more about M'sia in a different point of view. But most of all, please weigh out everything in your head. If you think moving out of this country and getting a PR in the other country is easier, you're wrong. I'm not telling you that it's not impossible, but you can try. However, it's not as easy as you think. And if your thoughts are Japan, I suggest you better start thinking twice because the discrimination there is higher than what it is in M'sia - especially if you can't be like them. I know people who have been through that. This is just what I have to say. I apologize if I offended in any way but in truth, I must speak out at your very naive generalization of everything because it is just offensive to me, IMO. ---------- As for everyone else: Have a Happy Independence Day tomorrow :) I promise to reply soon. :< |

Wohohoho~ It's been quite a while since the last time i make posts here ~_~ Tomorrow Merdeka, eh? it's 51st Independence day already :O Wish you all have fun tomorrow~ and btw, fasting month is really near ^O^ Hope it would be another great fasting month like before =) for muslim here, Selamat Berpuasa~ @Death Kamehameha: O_O I don't think that making that kind of statement here is a good idea. I completely agree with what Meep said.Idk what you're thinking about, but I'M PROUD TO BE MALAYSIAN. Even though there are few things I don't like about Malaysia too, but I felt grateful that I was born in this country. Why? there's a lot of reason for that. Well, at least, there's nothing such as war and there's not much natural disasters >.> and btw, if you go live at other countries, and if after few years, Malaysia become a better country, what would you do? Come back to Malaysia? Heh! ______________________________ k that's all. I still wish I can meet you all IRL, since we live in the same country |

Malaysia get better? I doubt it judging by the things going on right now! Tell me what do you think when these words pop up in your head: UiTM, Filthy Streets, Mat Rempit, Avril Lavigne Concert Banning issue, and other sensitive issues.. Don't tell me that you're happy with all these issues.. I'm sure that you don't even know about the Al-Jazirah interview.. You think I'm just an average guy, surrounded by friends whom I think have mentalities of a 3rd world country citizen? Whenever I walk out the streets, Bus stops, shopping malls, cinemas and parks, how I wish these places would be like the ones in US or UK where people actually behave properly no matter where they are. Here, SOME people can't even sit, walk, talk or eat properly. Plus, there's rubbish on the floor wherever you are. It's such an eye-sore. Why don't you compare Malaysia with other countries which are doing better instead. Singapore, was once a part of Malaysia, is now already doing better than us! Scientists from all over the world are currently staying in Singapore and doing research there! And what do you see here? A BIG Comedy sketch to the eyes of foreigners. Where do we hide our faces? Compare Malaysia to US or UK! Not even up to international standard! Look at Proton and Streamyx!! Compare proton to Honda! A big hurray for Perodua though.. A UK tv host once said this a few months back: "Don't people there (M'sia) live on trees and go to work via bullock cart?".. You know what? The funny thing is. I actually agree with him. Some people here are still so 'ulu'.. We all know why Malaysia is like THIS and not like THAT.. Mistakes/Mistakes and more Mistakes which will never be learned from. My friend honked a motorcyclist for rushing out of nowhere which was friggin dangerous. And you know what, that motorcyclist kicked my friends car until there was quite a deep dent and still wanted to pick a fight! I was in the car.. A good example of another person with a 3rd world country mentality.. The verdicts is, the good will stay as it is While the bad will just continue to grow. I may or may not come back for visiting. Most of my relatives and friends have already migrated anyway. So people who have no complaints. Forget about this and don't let me ruin your mood. I wish you guys Happy Independence Day.

wow..evyone is writing an essay~ let say..since tomorrow is..no.. wait..NOW which mean today is our 51st Independence Day..why not we all make changes..yeah, if the Msians are all talking bout how proud they are to be a Msian ok maybe its true coz me myslef is proud to be a msian..but sometimes what revolves around our country and perhaps our very own culture and race, sometimes do make me feel slightly..errmmm, not proud to be a Msian??? i dunno~meaning to say here..yeaps. we r all human so it is natural for us to like something and to hate something..Malaysia has its own good part and not a really good part. So, my hope for this year Merdeka Celebration is please mind your attitude. Foreigners really are watching us, how polite we are n this n that. Every year, same old 'tak bermoral' things will occur during the celebration~..shameful you know.. Anyway~ Happy Merdeka Day to all of Malaysian Gendounians.. And like Waneeeeee said i really 1000000000x wanna meet you guys IRL! |

Hmm~?.. things are changing a bit in here.. some people aren't so active anymore, and we're seeing some of the old people coming back as well. And also, a couple of new faces XD Selamat berpuasa to my muslim frens, and for the others, remember to be courteous and respectful of the occasion XD @46 *ignores random post* >_> irrashai~! care to introduce yourself? just a simple 'where you're from' and what anime/manga interests you XD feel free to talk about anything, but try to make it not-so-random, yeah XD @Angie Someone's been watching too much Hayate D: @Deak welcome~! I'm from Ipoh, too, although currently I'm in kl. So, which school do you attend in Ipoh? @Death You know, I won't pretend that the current situation in Malaysia is all that well. But I have to say that I dun really agree with the way you're thinking. Compare us~? With US and UK~? Malaysia just celebrated it's 51st birthday. Do you know how long have US existed as a country? UK~~ even longer. If you really want to compare, then compare with our neighbors. Countries in south east asia which share common geographical factors. I'd say with the exception of Singapore (and maybe Thailand), Malaysia is doing pretty well compared to our neighbors. Yes. I won't mince my words. I also know about the so-called 'brain-leak' of our researchers into Singapore, which is partly due to non-recognition from our gov. The other reason is because Singapore actively lures such people-talent with the root of all evil - money. Because Singapore recognizes its shortcomings. For a island-country, raw resources are really lacking, so they compensate by building up an intellectual country. Sorry to say, but I think a lot of Singaporeans have no soul. The way that country is, it's making its citizens very self centered. (Sorry Engel, I hope you don't read this >_<) Malaysia, on the other hand, sad to say does not appreciate the resources it has, whether nature or people. It has squandered away a lot of these resources on not-so-important things. Astronaut, anyone? Let's face it, cultural and race relations are still tender. I grew up in a community of chinese and indians. Some of the warmest people I know today are malays. But, Malaysian people, on a whole are still very immature. Politicians seem to bicker about the littlest things, and we're not allowed to talk about May 13 for some oddly misplaced fear. How are we to learn if not from history? For one, after so many years, the major political parties are all still very race-alligned. When can the politicians forget about our differences in skin colour and just build the country together? BUT~~. Despite all my grievances, which I think may even surpass yours, Death-kun, I was born in this country. So you think Malaysia fails as a country and you want to migrate? Isn't that just a cowardly act of running away? You, me, and everyone else in this thread are young. We Can Change The Country. Our Time Will Come. Has that ever occurred to you? Perhaps you feel this way because the people around you have also given up on Malaysia. Well, I suppose if most your frens and family have all moved elsewhere, there really isn't much reason to stick around. @mikuru rinrin *hides in the shadows and ambush-glomps rinrin* :D *random musings* lately I've finally gotten around to getting the manga for Kamichu~! Most of the stories are different from its anime version, and it makes me want to rewatch the anime again. Maybe I will XD Also, I'm stuck on Hayate ep 10. The anime is EPIC. It makes me wanna rewatch the episodes over and over, which explains why it's reaaaaaaaally slow-going for me. |

@Angie LOL. Hinagiku ish your fav character eh~? o^_^o I'm still only up to ep10 now (Soul Eater, Slayers and Major are all fighting for my attention D:) So far, all the girls are pretty interesting, and they each have memorable character traits. Isumi catches my attention the most XD Well, I've always had a thing for temple maidens and the sort XD Which also explains my fascination with 'Kamichu~!' XD And that really sounds like something Hinagiku might say to Hayate, passing it off as a joke when she really means it >_< @Eria Hihi~~!! XD You've been here before right? I remember your nick X3 Rusa masuk kampung? LOL.. No worries, everyone ish nice here (most of the time XD). Buat macam chatting ngan kawan je XD On the merdeka celebrations, anyone notice there are so few flags around this year? Some say BN is busy worrying about other stuff XD Some also think that our flags are outsourced to be made in China, and they were too busy making their own flags for the Olympics XDDD And of course last year was the BIG 50 as well, so it was really grand. @mikuru rinrin where's our thread mascot~?? I mish you O_O.. come back and haunt my screensaver~~! |
