Quote: "If Japan won a war on malaysia against britain in 1941> could be ive turned into japanese too....i really want it,sobsobsobsob!!!!~_~ " No...you probably wouldn't be here right now because the Japanese would have probably killed your ancestors......sorry, but the Japanese pretty much killed or enslaved everyone who got in their way during that time frame...

"lol..they were evil in the past..now they are good in the present..i think so" Well...they were evil in out records of the past...but according to Japanese historical records, the massacering of other (ethnic groups of) Asians didn't happen....it's basically the Asian version of denying the holocaust. but yeah, Japan is pretty cool now "think so...since now the future there will be no more war" are you sure about that? the situation in the Middle east doesn't look too peaceful.

| I think I'm turning Japanese. Probably not that quickly, but yes, I believe I am. XD Main source would obviously be anime. I also love some of the Japanese foods. <3 |

i guess if there are any japanese reading this topic they would be amused by the postings and some of the *cough* exuberant comments ^-^ a quick shoutout to thundergod for starting the thread in the first place! bokuwa..like many who have been blessed wif the presence of anime and its music..i also find the japanese culture very attractive. It's a case of "the grass is always greener on the other side", you know? but you may be suprised..i read in a blog of someone who studied in nippon for a couple of years, in it he mentioned that the family he lived with was singing Sisqo's 'Thong Song' even though they din really understand the lyrics lol.. dakara..instead of 'becoming' japanese, i will stick to being who i am and incorporate some japanese culture in my life, such as their politeness, which i think is the epitome of japanese culture. On a side note..it's always fun to shout 'itadakimasu!' before a meal and watch everyone's dumbfounded expression hehe...oh..and Happy 2007 minna! |

i always find that the japanese culture and society is more stable over there than here in NA...kinda sad since all we do is start wars...and over there they make the coolest electronics and have the cutest chics...T_T i already have a house/manor over there so its no worrys...and i got a hot girl who works at a shrine waiting for me.....awesome...haha but yah...i have so much more respect for their culture than i do for ours...kinda sad...so much more polite too..."yakuza...haha" GO JAPAN, NIHON ICHIBAN! once im done my schooling here in NA im gonna return to japan and live in the countryside away from civilization and just relax...eat some rice and have hot spring milk bathes everyday...haha im weird...cya |

Get plastic surgery to look Asian. Get your named changed to some Japanese name. YOUR STILL WHAT YOU STARTED OUT WITH. "Turnin' Japanese"... Feh, it's annoying already enough. |

Yes, I'm also turning into Japanese. I learned Japanese language, including how to write/read kanji (which is sooooo hard!). Because I want to understand Japanese songs and read mangas (so I don't have to waith for the scanlation to come out). I also have a dream where I could go study in Japan, so I tried to take the scholarship test. Unfortunately, I failed the scholarship. I also try to learn their other culture and their way of thinking. I thought that the change of my personalities -become more punctual and never gives up before trying my best- are because I admire their spirits. It's not a bad thing I guess, turning into Japanese. You just have to pick the best things they have. Not the bad ones. |

I understand what u guys mean. I don't see anything wrong with it. Be whatever you want. You don't owe anyone or culture anything, only yourself. There is nothing wrong with liking another way of life. Japanese culture has many great qualities. I know I would love to be a part of it. My uncle married a Japanese woman and she is the nicest person that I know. She has taught me a lot about Japan. People become part of other cultures every day. Whatever makes you happy! |

Never turn your back on who u really are. Tat is a code of the japanese. Even though u like em now, u may grow outta it one day. As for me, i like who i am and will not turn my back on my culture though i know tat the japanese culture is richer than mine. |

Re: I think i'm turnin japanese...What about you?

| I don't know if you would say I'm turning Japanese but I do like anime and manga thought not cause it's japanese mainly cause it's interesting. I do plan to move to Japan after I graduate college and I'm learning japanese in preperation and not just cause I love the culture but because I also hope to get a job at one of the game companies there. I have to confess I do perfer asian food over american but that also has nothing to do with it being asian its cause I like the flavor. So I guess in a sense my wanting to be in Japan has more to do with my own motives than it does with wanting to be Japanese. |

i think a lot of anime fans dreamt of being japanese at one point in their lives. ^^ It's only natural because they DO have an AMAZING culture.
