GAH! This is the second time I've missed submitting something to Gendou Idol. Oh well. ^^;; About how often are these done? Is there a set time between one GI and another? I just want to make sure I'm better prepared next time around. Off to listen to the entries! Good luck, all XD!  |

Looks like it which is good because i still have a ways so ill be up all night since im off tomorrow and it looks like gendou probably needs a a few himself since i didnt see his on a couple but that was awhile ago so he may be caught up by now. I apologize if it was extended for me as i wasnt expecting a heavy work schedule (6 days in a row) and didnt take advantage of times while i was in chat. I underestimated the time it needed to listen to all entries and how much time i actually had.

Yes, I extended the end date of round 1 a day so that I can finish judging.

I changed my mic recently to a USB one and redid the song i submitted earlier. Sure wish I could change my entry after seeing the judges comments that I need a better mic :( |

(thanks Gendou) [@Ray] Don't blame yourself, it's hard being a judge for the first time let alone judging this many entries within a week. I only need about ten more, really crammed in a session last night to judge about 30 or so more before passing out. I think this first round was good, however a lot of people made simple mistakes. I think the second round will be really intense if most of my higher scored entries pass on. But good luck to everyone and hopefully you see the entries soon (Saturday?). It sucks a few people got DQed, and I can definitely see the people who were going to enter Vocaloid songs struggle to find other songs. How was your time judging Ray?

lol im still up judging but its a blast. I love hearing the entries. making real progress. getting close to 70%. I drank a pepsi so i think thats why i still have the energy to listen to the entries. And i agree, on the simple mistakes part but hey stuff happens right? Looking forward to bringing it down to 30 though, phew this is a lot of work :p

Yeah I finished, and it was tough. I think it was rough this round cause a lot of people did similar songs, and a lot of people had similar mistakes with the same or similar songs, which was a bit frustrating at times, you know? But I think everyone did great and I wish them the best of luck for the next round! And yeah I finished so I'm gonna whore out LBP2 and give it to the mailman later. XD You have all day to judge though, so like get some sleep or something. For some random reason I stayed up...

I agree DA. I noticed a lot of songs were repeated, which is a plus and a minus. A plus because you hear it so many times that it's easy to catch the mistakes. On the other hand, it is not good because you have many versions to compare, so if someone did AMAZING, the others aren't good enough. (At least that happened to me. I got tainted. I had to stop and listen to other songs, otherwise I would give one version of the song a great score, and the other a very low one XD). Either way...my advice to all contestants: ENERGY! Lots of entries had potential, but people sang as if they were bored. You all need to have fun and we have to be able to hear that. Especially during an upbeat song. |

new entry has to be submitted for round 2 so if you are confident (if you arent, you may have suprised yourself) start getting your second songs ready. You need a new song and just apply the feedback given towards your new song.

That would be the long way of finding out. I'm sure once the scores are looked at the top 25 (30?) Will be highlighted in blue

My main emphasis is don't sing low, because is you "talk-sing" your vocals are restrained or compressed, which can actually be bad for your vocals if you're doing a stronger song but still singing soft. And the people that will move onto the next round will be highlighted lack previous seasons. It's simple. And of course you must sing a new song, all the way to the finals.

Yay! My bet won! :DD a perfect 20 :3 And i dont feel bad about losing haha actually, with the judges comments saying the same thing with my acquaintances IRL and an upcoming competition next week. I'll try exerting effort with the strong voice comment haha :D thank you judges *bows* |

Just finishing my analysis of the scores... and catching up... yeah, I took the long and restless way :p I made a list of the top 30 and I have to say the following: • Wooow! a double rainbow! I mean a perfect score!!! congrats ^_~! • The top 30 go in range from (the above mentioned) perfect 20.0 to JUST exactly 17.0 ~~~ I accomodated the top based on a)score and, b)in due case of a tie in score, by entry (as in, the original posting order)~~~ • IMHO: I know it'll be more judging/work, but I think you should go for 30, instead of 25, because, according to my NON-oficial (XD) list of Gendou Idol 7, if you do it at top 30, you'll get at bottom list ALL 17.0 participants (31st is a 16.8); if you decide to make it top 25 (again, according to my analysis... because I don't have a very clear view of how exactly does yours' work...), you'd be eliminating some 17.2 scores (24th to 27th are that same score). Pardon my intrussion, you may continue with your scheduled judging ^^U ----------------- Anyway, I also *found* out this (lol): • Continuing my process, I was 46th ^^U (I HAD to know lol), I definitely know I can do better, and I admit that I had to sing from 2am to 4am because I realized of the contest [almost] way too late, so I could only do so much with my oh-so-slow laptop (I miss my P.C. :'(, r.i.p.) and trying to not wake up neither my mom (which I did) nor the neighborgs (...and I don't wanna know if I did (>\.\<)u ) Alas... I thank the judges for even the most harsh comments, because they make us better and they were spot on the judging (you just didn't know the reasons behind it, and now you do because I'm out and it won't look like I'm trying to justify myself [which, again, I'm not XP]) I'll try to have at least 3 well edited and overall great sung songs for next time, and now that I know I can, and that it's not as scary as I thought (...for now!!! :s) I'll hope to participate next time :3
