From time to time, i will ban a small (or large, if need be) IP range.

tell me something, i know you ban members who hotlink right? now how can you proctect against dynamic ip addresses? considering i was caught when a certain inuyahsa site's staff member hotlinked, i came on here to check the forums and bang, there i was with the banned message, and not having had done anything... can someone explain?

oh, and for those who don't know, dynamic ips change evertime you connect to the net, and yes, i have one, which confused me when i connected again later that night here in aust and found the ban still in effect....

lol yes.. I just thought it was funny when I first saw it, with the gendowned background, and his message "i have newly pimped my page".. it probably made others think that this new background was his version of "pimp" lol....

lol. what kind of question is that? kawaii

if god is omnipotent, can he create a rock he cant carry? if he cant create the rock, that doesnt make him omnipotent right? but if he creates one, and is unable to carry it, this also doesnt make him omnipotent. right?

now thats a question. though it is ambiguous and is a paradox for defying our intuition, it is still a good enough question worth asking.

*much to kay's surprise,it read:HOTLINKING IS A CRIME*
'kewl,wonder how gendou changed the BG image...',kay asked himself
*feeling curious,kay started to click on the comment hyperlink*
'lesse what this page has to offer',kay said,grinning to himself
*this his surprise,that page has been gendowned too*
'kewl,i wonder what's the xanga owner's reactions gonna be...',kay started to imagine her reaction...

and that's the end of kay's misadventures to a gendowned xanga site ;p

and the moral of the story is..."Never hotlink to gendou's mp3s if you don't wanna get GENDOWNED!"

It's not like I have virgin eyes. You can't go on the internet without seeing somethin that's potentialy bad for your mental health, tubgirl isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Albeit a little disturbing but not the worst out there. Oh so very glad not to be stupid and hotlink songs, I like my websites intact although... Gendowned for a background might not be that bad... Not that I'd ever hotlink.

@ranger: Long story short:

People are stupid
Stupid person comes to gendou and starts downloading. Stupid person never bothers to read or try to understand the rules of this site and in their ignorance decided to generously share anime music with th rest of the world by posting copy-pasted links off the download page, embeding the songs into their livejournal directly from a download link, ect.

Gendou gets revenge
Gendou finds all these logs of hotlink requests in his server log and goes on the hunt. First he looks in the database to see what stupid person's password on gendou is. Gendou goes to stupid person's livejournal, forum, xanga, myspace, ect. and logs in as stupid person because stupid person uses the same password on every site he creates an account on. Gendou then procedes to edit stupid person's posts to redirect to images of tubgirl and sets stupid person's avatar and livejournal background to pictures of tubgirl.

We all laugh (and cringe)
Gendou comes back to this thread and posts links to all those stupid people who have been GENDOWNED and we all laugh and make fun of them for being stupid. Also a few people are stupid enough to follow the links and lose their virginity to tubgirl, but that's all part of the wonderful expierence we call the internet.
