Super: I'd like to give you some advice, if that's okay. I've been active in a couple of threads hoping that I can help people with their singing. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there, so congratulations. However, your voice comes out very breathy. If you sing from your diaphragm and use the muscles there, it will allow you to have a stronger voice. When you're warming up, try holding your index finger about 3 or 4 inches from your face and work on controlling air flow. Blow at it like a candle, but instead of one quick breath practice letting your air out slowly and controlling how much air you are releasing. Try to be able to do it for thirty seconds without stopping to take a breath, then try 40 seconds, gradually increasing the amount of time. If you can't make it to 30 seconds right away, go for as long as you can and then work towards 30 seconds. This will help you learn how to have better breath control and support. You were also a bit off-key, I think. That's not hard to fix, though. It was just a little mistake, rather than you being tone-deaf. I hope this helps, and good luck. "Also, what causes one's voice to sound breathy? Hi, Thanks for your kind comments ;-) Breathiness can be caused by the vocal folds allowing too much air to escape. Too much air can "crowd" the lungs creating too much pressure against the vocal cords which can cause either tension or extreme breathiness. There are two opposite ways of dealing with this, one is to focus less on breathing and more on phonation and the song itself (essentially forget the problem and relax). If tension is the cause then this may work for you. The other way which I think is probably more relevant to you is to concentrate more on learning to control your breathing and its passage through the vocal chords. Try taking less air and using it more effectively. Hold your finger to your mouth and breath on it - the breath should be gentle and moist - this is the ideal breath for singing. There is a scene in the film 'Yentl' with Barbra Streisand singing in front of a candle which hardly flickers as she sings - this is an ideal demonstration of how little air needs to be exhaled to produce a note! Exercises that help you improve breath control: Breath in on 5 beats exhale on 20 beats Blow up a balloon using gentle steady breaths." |

This is the second time i'm posting here,oh and thanks to SS for your comments really gonna do as u say about tht technical of breathing thing and this one is my latest singing well, i didn't sing this song in full version just for your guys reviews only cuz i wanna hear your comments and critics before i'm posting the full version...HEHEHEHE @alexl55- u got such wonderful voice really like it when someone sing the original music instead translating into your language and sing with it,it means u possessed a different kinda language other than your language which u already familiar with!!!love it alex55 really good. |

WOW!!! Its been awhile since someone posted here. YIPES! Well, I know I am NOWHERE close to HIMEKA's level, but I admire her soooooo much! I covered her song "Asu e no kizuna". You may want to turn the volume down for this one. I know my microphone is crap in this one (it just started crapping out on me) and someone said it doesn't due me any justice vocally. I also screw up on the lyrics a lot. It was a one-shot, tired after work attempt. LMAO! But ya! Take a listen and tell me what you think. Hi everyone!! I finally decided to upload a song ^-^. I want to improve my singing and I'd really appreciate it if you could help me :). I added little reverb and echo. I sang this Mermaid Melody song but it's an italian version I heard it and liked it so much. It's called Dolce Melodia. you can hear the original on youtube. (I'm sorry if any italian people hear this song 'cause I'm well aware I made massive pronunciation mistakes) =P

@s375wb - yeap!!thats my voice!!i doubled my voice thats why it sounded like that!! @miky - magicmic wow better get one of those hehehehe!!seriously for second there i thought u sang in a studio!!my mic is the cheaper one even my niece playin with it better get rid that mic as soon as possible!!! |
