I only typed in Sarah and got 傿œ¬ Sakamoto (book of the hill) 明日香 Asuka (fragrance of the bright day) And then I put in my last name and got 傿œ¬ Sakamoto (book of the hill) 三åƒä»£ Michiyo (three thousand generations) sakamoto... isnt that a last name? Then I typed my last name followed by my first and got è‰æ‘© Souma (scraping weeds) 明日香 Asuka (fragrance of the bright day) : D

When I lived in Japan, my friends found kanji to match the sounds in my first name- my last is ubber plain- white. But my first name was tons of fun. It meant 'addicted to pears and works tail off'. According to the rum and monkey site though, my name is 白石 (White Stone) and 相å (Child of the Morning sun) |

My name in Japanese is アレックス. (For those who can't read 日本語, it says Alex.) Sorry to burst y'all's bubbles, but if you aren't Japanese, you DON'T have a Japanese name. Period. It's much more practical to learn how to write your real name in katakana.
*Insert really catchy signature here*

I didn't like mine, I got Hatsuharu Ogawa. Can't I just be Shingo Tsukino? When people go to Japan, do they often give themselves a Japanese name so they won't have to struggle with pronounciation? Is this an acceptable practice? |
