| I reluctantly have to agree with Kotuso, if only partialy. Your lover can betray you, in fact in bigger ways than your friends. Then again if that person is your lover then you sholdn't have to worry about that. Unfortunatly we live in a corrupted world in which your best friends one day are your worst enimies the next. Given the choice I would choose my friends, there are other fish in the sea, and I don't want to be stuck with the larged-mouth bass. |

Why would your friends be more important than your lover? I have very close friends, Wendy is like a sister to me. We love each other and have even shared a kiss however I would rather have my lover. My frinds are not always there when I need someone, my lover is. My friends can't give me the emotional and physical satisfaction and security my lover can. I can't hnold me friends close at night when I'm afraid or insecure. Still, I can go shopping with my friends, something that is next to impossible to get my lover to do.  |

Lady Rin, let me tell you this. My friend is my best friend, we have been friends since 6th grade. and we still are friends. I am not gana left someone that I have not known as long as him make me choose. So it is my friend that i would go to. I quote his dad: "You two are the closest guys I have ever seen." I used to go over to his house EVERY weekend. Now he is at boot camp. hehehe...we keep in touch with letters.

agree, agree.... i thik both my bf and my friends are important to me... but, sometimes, my bf is not always there, which is totally true, so who can i count on, my friends, of course!!! but, if a lover betrays you, it hurts even more>>> i think... sero: it's good that you have a best friend who been with you since six grade... |

You can't really choose one over the other. Rin likes to say, "It's trying to quantify the unquantifiable". I depend on my friends outside. In the field, on the rock, in the air. Of all my friends there are only a handful that I consider close to let carry a rifle at my back. Unfortunately one of those don't know jack about firearms. *he he* A couple of those friends, including Wendy, are female. Still none of them are close enough to to replace Rin or to be what Rin is to me. Wendy would try and should, god forbid, anything ever happened to Rin she would be there for me. Still in the middle of the night I don't think Don is a replacement for Rin. You can't choose one over the other because they both fullfill different needs.  |

there is an old saying i've picked up here in aust, once lovers never friends, meaning once you take itto the next level, there's no going back, i could'nt tell you which of them i choose, cuz honestly, i would not have a clue when i think about it, and in regards to desertranger, you're right, they both fulfil different needs to you, so there is really no way of classifying either of them as more important than the other

i have a gf who i was freinds with for 10 years and its fine accept when i try 2 advance sexualy and i freak out 4 like 15-20 seconds and try not to advance at all,6 monthes and not even a french kiss.  Fummeln Sie mit dem besten herum.. stirbt wie der Rest! |

The best option is when your best friend is the one you love. A friend once said to me "Only a fool would love anyone but their best friend." And she was damn right as I saw for myself later.

I did experience this actually... Me and my friend went to the same college... on my first year... I kept seeing this girl in all of my classes... after that... I managed to get the strength to talk to her and found out that we were blockmates... Anyways... as time passed I started to get to know her and like her... However... one day we were all gathering for an announcement at school... It was the day that I first introduced my friend to the others... well... to him... when he saw my blockmate... It was love at first sight... when we both went home together... my friend blurted out... "She looks kinda cute... right?"... Of course I was shocked because I had feelings for her as well... I didn't know what to do... should I try to date my blockmate...? or should I give up and let my friend try to start a relationship with her... In the End... I told my friend i'll back down for them... saying to myself... "Hey... she'll be in good hands... this guy's got brains... and has a good character... She'll be happier with him than with me..." i hate this kinda love story......... it hurts alot to have to let go of something you want and like......esp when it comes to love. well, best friend and love, i would chose best friend...maybe years later ,i'll chose love..who knows? its just a thought..and people change from time to time...but of course, love wont wait u to change you mind. so, chose wisely.... p.s. i hate those who ignore their best friends after they've got a bf/gf and come bothering after they broke up...

Yes he knew that I had feelings for her too... But There's more to the story actually... After a while they became a couple... while i became the "clown" of the college... making a scene at any chance i could... I had a lot of friends... but I never tried to start or look for a relationship... but time flew by... I had a practice at a friends house and decided to stop at a nearby video store and met this HS girl... She was looking for an anime character to use as a reference... The shopkeeper didn't know so he asked me to help her... seeing that i have some time for the practice I agreed... i brought her to an anime shop and left her my number and told her i had friends who could help her out... But after that.. she started calling at home and asked how I was doing and stuff... we started meeting after classes and doing stuff together... I never even knew that i would fall for her... After confessing... she too harbored feelings for me... and we became a couple... (It was sort of a controversy since I was a college student and she was at HS) But things weren't as perfect as we thought it would... She was pretty jealous that I was surrounded by females all the time... (Although It is a college that is mostly attended by females..) Still I told her that I was loyal and never has feelings for others... In the end... I couldn't take it anymore and broke up with her... That was a day that changed my life... The wierdest thing here was... Almost everybody at that exact week had problems with their partners... even my friend... 3 days later he told me that he and my blockmate broke up with each other as well... Suddenly... My friend sort of tried to patch up with my ex... but I can't... seeing that I lost confidence and trust with her... 2 weeks later... My friend suddenly told me... "Hey... is it alright if I dated your ex...?" Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |
