Big to giant spiders. We have several and scorpions as well. the biggest is the Tarantula of course. right behind him is the Sun Spider, bug yellow and fast. They come into the house and check you out then run outside again. Wolf spiders are allowed to hunt in the house unharmed, they're good guys. Vinagaroons are also fairly large and a member of the scorpion family. If oyu get bit by one you taste vinegar in you4r mouth as well as smelling like vinegar fo a week. Ky got bit by one once. Today I had the pleasure of finding a baby Coachwhip snake, maybe half a meter in the kitchen Ky took it outside but not before it bit him a couple of times. Coachwhips can reach 10ft/3m and are the fastest snakes in the desert, they are also very agressive. Fortunately they are not poisonous. |

I'm afraid of snakes, whether it be dead or alive.I can't stand the sight of them. There's a couple of times I was close [and i mean REALLY close] to a small snake and it freaked me out! Like I screamed and jumped all the time. Could be a reason too why I loath Orochimarou. ^^v |

What is it with spiders and snakes? I was terrified of snakes until I held my first one. It was a Rosy Boa about 3ft long and it felt like silk, so smooth. |

Oh dear. I think we should stay on topic before Gendou locks this. I have a fear of landing an airplane. That's what kept me from getting my license until this year. My instructor of 9 years thinks I have more hours that any student pilot he's ever had. Last summer after a discussion on another forum I decided to overcome that fear and I did. I almost had a heart attack doing it yet I did it, 10 times. I now have 267 landings, I keep track of them in my logbook and Ranger or my IP grades each one. My average grade for landings, "C-" however I am getting better and occasionally I make an "A+" landing. I've made a few "Ds" as well. I have never made an "F". |

I am not the military pilo,t Ranger was. I learned to fly startng about 9 years ago. Rangers cousin Clarke own several aircraft including the two I fly, a Cessna 210RF, and an Aero Commander 502C. It's the 210 10 I made my first solo flight and landing in last summer. Until then I was terrified to try landings since previouly I had twice damaged a Cessna 182 on landing. So I had a fear of landings until a disscussion on "The edge and facing your fears" on another forum lead me to conquer that fear. It was exciting, fearful, exhilerating(sp) all at the same time., I thought I was going to have a CFIG ("controlled flight into the ground" or crash) then Ranger took his hands of the yoke at the last minute and said I had had to do the landing on my own, make or break. I learned from that lesson that in any situation (going back on topic) you can face your fears and overcome them. This landing was made at a sand airstrip where the locals go to practice emergency procedures. I also didnt know that it would have been almost impossible damage that plane (the 210) on landing because of it's design and extremely low stall speed, 65mph in the RF model as opposed to 85mph in a standard model, and the fact we were landing on sand which balloon tires which makes it much easier. I was going to learn to fly a Marchetti SF260 only the price of AvGas has gone through the roof putting all flying on hold, maybe permenantly. BTW if you are over 18 and/or have your parents permission you can get your first lesson for ~$50US at almost any airport. The cost of a Private license is about ~4,000US. Fortunately id didn't cost us that much since Clarke hs planes to fly. You can do a google image search for these planes. |

Death is natural and I see a lot of fear about death. We can't avoid movies with death it it, however I dont like blood ro gore so we don't see those kinds of movies. Ranger has accepted the inevetible end. As far as I can tell he has no fear of dying and I think I have finally learned to accept my own end as well. Still there is a fear of death in our home, that of the other. Because of the differences in our ages, 17 years, in all probablity Ranger shall be taken from me first. I do not wish to be alone and that is a tremendous fear I have, being alone, without Ranger. He has the same fear as well, lonliness after my passing. I've seen loneliness take him, it's a terrible thing to watch. I wish to pass with my husband. Perhaps I shall by my own hand.:( :( :( :( :( |

I have a fear going to funeral where the dead body is put on display during the whole ceremony. Been to a Chinese funeral once, my grandpa's funeral. I was little then and I was lead by my parents to see grandpa for last time. Kinda freaked me out seeing the dead body. |
Re: Discuss your fears

if you're freaked out by dead bodies, don't worry, i think it's normal. just don't pursue a medical profession! >.< when i volunteer, {in the ER and ICU}, i see stuff like that... i guess you get used to it. i'm not afraid of death, really. in a way i can see why it's fascinated: it's the one part of life that dosen't always have a predicted outcome. it's entirely different, and i think that's what scares people. i think i'm just afraid of not really living or not having enough time... not really death in itself.
nya........... hehe.

I think I have no fears...well except the fear of being tortured until the rest of my life, I don't have any other fears concerning me directly...however I fear more for the ones I care about than myself. |
